I'm able to touch my affected leg and always have. I think the desensitization helps with my symptoms. I never had PT for my CRPS II, but I do know that many programs incoporate this. Light touch is pretty unbearable, but constant heavier touch feels better. Does that make any sense? Not really I guess.

Ha does anything about RSD make sense?? Mine i guess isn't so much 'if' I can tolerate it, but 'how long' I can tolerate it. I've worked for years trying to desensitize my left hand/wrist with little success, but there are underlying issues from the original trauma. With the new stuff, it's different. Kinda goes moment by moment whether I can tolerate anything. Of course, I find myself gritting and bearing the pain for my grandkids...just deal with the pain later lol

I can touch mine, but I can't stand other people touching it. My other half does desensitisation on it for me (as per the Consultant's request - sadist!!!! ) and I've learnt to let him do it. Feels like a burning hot poker though!

I can touch the knee (and surrounding areas) more now than I could in the past...depending on how it feels at the moment. That's a tolerate though but it's not exactly comfortable. That part has always perplexed me because a hinged knee brace has always felt better ever since the fracture, atleast for awhile (it becomes too cumbersome and bothers the skin after 3-4 hrs) but it helps PAIN while having to be mobile! There was a time when I couldn't tolerate the slightest movement, touch, or any clothing around the leg at all. Shaving was a problem! It still gets pretty raw espec with flare-ups though but the SCS and desensitization at PT has helped to a point. When the SCS is off, it's awful!!
