Frogga,

No, I don't have a flat screen monitor. But, I have a non-glare/privacy screen on my computer. What I'm finding is that it's just light that hurts. Staring at the screen doesn't help, but my eyes hurt just by keeping them open. I wear sunglasses when I'm outside, but I can't wear them in the office. Well, not to say that I "can't", but that I'm an executive secretary and wouldn't be accepted I guess. I swear that the lights in my office flicker... But, nobody else says that they do.

I have an appt with my doctor in July - that's when my next yearly is - covered by insurance.

I know everyone can relate - I'm just TIRED. All of this pain is just tiring and nausiating... I feel sick because I'm in such pain.

I've been doing alot of breathing. - Deep breathing with relaxing the shoulders and unclenching my jaw. I don't even know I clench my jaw, it's just my reaction to the pain. I"m just trying to get through the day.

I also get out and walk often during the day. My desk is so that I can stand and work also. So, there's not the stress on my neck and shoulders.

I know I'm off topic, but Thank you for listening.

Beth.

you must have fluorescent lights in your office?

They will flicker , some people are more sensitive to that that others.
The buzzing that some of those do drive me batty too.

Can you try some plug in lamps with something like the GE ? natural light bulbs? and turn off the overhead ones?
or the halogen ones that reflect the light off the ceiling?

Check the refresh rate on your monitor and set it as high as you can.
try different brightness/contrast combos on the monitor too.

Yes we do have fluorescent lights. But, I can't turn off the lights because of others in the office. But, I do have my own lamp in my office that I can use.

Thank you for replying.

Default Problems with light and face being red

Yes I can relate to your issue of your face becoming red. Also, my left ear becomes red very often. When I was seen by a very famous RSD Dr. he indicated this is typical with RSD and mentioned exactly what it was - but I forgot. My face feels like it is on fire. I often stick my head in the refrigerator. Also, the light really bothers my eyes. Night time driving is a an issue at times. At this time I have no problem with the computer screen.
Sorry you are experiencing these problems.
Best wishes,
Sydney

My physical therapist asked if I had been in the sun because my face and neck were beet red. I hadn't been in the sun, it was just my nerves being "hyperactive." I have this problem regularly - especially when I'm stressed out.

I have tried using Olbas Oil on the areas that are burning. It immediately takes the burning away, but comes back after a few minutes. It also doesn't smell the best - atleast for an office setting. If you were at home, it can even be pleasant. It reminds me of the oils that masseuse use. You can get it on the internet at HerbalRemedies.com. I also use it for stuffy noses. I put a little on a kleenex and put it in the pillow case. It works wonderfully without medication. My husband says it smells like Vicks. It has peppermint oils, eucalyptus oils.

Something to try.

Thanks for listening.
