Default neuro retired, find a new PM dr...

Howdy folks!

I hope all are well as can be!

I'm going on 30 years with this RSD / TOS. Recently I became diabetic, and was assaulted twice.. for no good reason. (knocked down, kicked around, broken ribs and wrist, then had a guy actually come into my apartment, grab me by the hair, and shake the livin' daylights outta me! That made my neck/discs/Tos feel great, my arms are of very little use and painful now.
Anyways, I was seeing an internist, who simply got overwhelmed with how ill I am, and the amount of meds I require (methadone is my primay primary Been on it over 20 years.).

Today, I went to a 'Pain Management' doctor. They suggested Lyrica. NO! I uttered the word methadone, told them I didn't want the side effects of Lyrica, and was quickly done, or they were with me. Now, don't get me wrong, they weren't cold, and efficiently / kindly suggested another doctor, albeit downtown Philly, whom would help me. I looked him up on the 'net, and was greeted by a search for other PM docs. So, I'll get on that tomorrow. (some are closer), I dislike downtown.

These modern PM docs, seem to be pushing the SCS, and blocks. No thanks, I've been through the blocks with Dr S, and they're mainly for diagnoses, it seems to me, anyhow.

Any comments, I appreciate!

Take care!

Pete

Hey Pete,

It has been awhile since Iv'e seen a post from you. (either I have missed it or youv'e been away) Any way, nice to hear from you.

First, I want to say sorry you got assaulted and now your diabetic. Second I would like to voice my opinion on your medication and dr. issue. If Methodone works for your Tos/crps then don't change it. Stand your ground. Show them your records and let them know this is been working, why chance it or risk making things work.

Second, check out RSD.org for a list of Dr.'s in your area. There may also be a list in our group if you do a search.

Good luck and stay in touch!

Yes, you're correct, I've been gone for a while, the assault(s) happened in my old apt bld, BY THE EMPLOYEES!
Anyway, i've got police reports and an attorney....

But,, jeez, now I understand the difficulty of finding a new doctor!

I'll be in touch and let you know!

Again, thanks so much for your kind reply!
