If you could picture any animal that your RSD resembles what would it be?
mine would be an annoying chihuahua yapping and biting my leg. Sorry im not a chihuahua fan, they are too small and bark too much lol. ![]() |

I would pick a bee. RSD to me feels like an annoying bee causing buzzing in my ears and constantly swarming around me until it stings me and causes constant throbbing and burning pain. Also terrible swelling. And no matter how hard I try to swat it away, it still comes back to get me.

Hmmmmm
![]() My CRPS is a stoat or weasel....cruel and viscious in that way only those creatures are, hurting for the sake of it, and totally without charm. Skulking in the cold and dark and waiting to pounce, attacking without provocation or need. Terrorising other creatures, taking over an area, competing for resources and driving out less viscious creatures from their territory. And unable to be controlled or eradicated.... A bit dark I know, but right now (it's not been a good couple of days ![]() BTW, I'm not including ferrets in here! They are cousins of the above, but have a different temperament and are not harming ecosystems in the same way. Bram.

A type of fish - Synanceia.
Step on one of those and you're in horrible pain for hours, and nothing (even morphine) can do anything about it. Won't kill you though (well, usually). Sound familiar? Except the hours part - CRPS is a lot longer! Luna.Moon |

The animal that has creeped me out since I was a kid, gross slimy, layers of teeth all around the disgusting open mouth... A lamprey eel. I saw a picture of one, with its mouth open when I was really young and it gave me nightmares and still repulses me when I think of it. And WHY do I still see that nasty thing and dread ever running into one. As dry as Albuquerque is, I'm sure they are all over town, waiting...

For the first several years I had terrible bone pain in the arm that was most affected - I always imagined some kind of vermin gnawing away. Thankfully that pain is mostly gone although I will be twinges if I really overdo. Now ten years in I think it's more like a polar bear - it loves cold weather, has sharp claws, can strike me down with one blow, and I've learned not to provoke it.
