Heya,
THANKS!! Thanks for the confidence vote! I am feeling alot more settled about it now and it is sounding quite interesting and, dare I say it, fun! It will be bizzare though working with pain, rhuematology and other consultants every day if I do get the placement! (be weird for them as well!). My main fear is that those that don't understand my RSD will attempt to "help", when in fact I just want to be left alone with it and stop all the "fiddlers" that make things a hundred times worse!! (like my spine block which went wrong after stupid doctor got the anesthetic wrong and then got the block wrong. It didn't help at all pain wise and it destroyed my spine and legs). Although the placement won't start until September 2008 we have to start planning them really soon - so HOPEFULLY I will have a chance of working there! Thanks all!! Love Frogga xxxxxxxx |

At first after reading up on that link I thought you meant you were to be admitted for procedures.. my bad an my so glad to see you will be getting your education there, I think as do the others here that you will be a wonderfull PM specialist.. I don't know how many times I have seen a doc or professional to explain pain that I know that person can't begin to understand on a been there level, and that is half the battle to loosen up and let them help me.
But I also can see you being a challenge for some doctors and researchers with the multi involvement. You can be a lesson them what a doctor not being very cautouse can lead to and the life changes because of it. And I would realy like to say that I am proud of you, sounds funny I am not yr ma.. but you are one of us and you do us proud hon. ![]() |

Thanks Sandel! knowing I have your pride means alot to me
![]() One of the most difficult parts of pain is being understood by anyone, I find it all the time. No one can believe that it is possible to live in agony and just not show it most of the time. So I guess understanding that would be good, and would make me empathise more, and having had this since a team, that would be great?? Hope you are ok ![]() Love Frogga xxxxxx |

frogga,
i think the combo of life experience AND professional skill would make u an unbeatable pain psych!.... (provided, of course, that this is something u WANT to do, not something u think u SHOULD do). if this is what u want, then go for it! liz |
