Oh dear Renee....hope you're a little better today

Big day today....so much to do! Got to try to do plenty of tidying and cleaning (involving much chivvying of the family, who are of course all out having festive fun right now lol ). Also time to get a couple of last things parcelled and posted, start writing the non-fresh stuff food list for husband to get (bless him) and buy a few more bits and pieces.

It's always amusing how if I'm doing whatever the job is, I can usually get some help with it....but if I'm sitting on the couch looking comfy and lazy (ho ho ho that's a larf ) then they will sit around too and assume that work time is over. It's so frustrating!!!! I know it looks lazy, but I just can't do what I used to, and they know that I have to sit sometimes and elevate my leg/feet to reduce the burn. I try not to do it too much, but at the moment it's more than I'd like. Sigh. No one said it would be easy....but no one said it'd be this hard. As someone once sang I spelt the above out to my poor husband again yesterday and said Christmas was going to happen and we were soooooo running out of time, and they would all have to start doing some stuff without me. So today they've all gone off to see friends and do sport. Oooooookaaaayyy.

Which is why I'm still sat here typing (ouch) when I should be working.

Haha.

Bram.

Today is great because I'm done with the shopping, mailing and tree. I hope you can finish up soon so you can relax.

Today was pretty productive. I got out to the store to get candy canes for all the associates who directly report to me at work (I attach them to Christmas cards that I give everyone). I also got the little gifts for the supervisors who report to me. Now I just have to write out all those cards...time is running out fast...

Lol catra time for me is not running out....it is pelting headlong for the door!!!

But after a small meltdown,
(terrible flare of pain + nobody doing any Xmas prep = )
we finally got some housework done and cleared the corner of the front room where the Christmas tree lives during the Yuletide festivities, and also large portions of the kitchen and the junk area behind the sofa. Phew.

Husband has also booked a day off work to tackle the rest. Good man. But why oh why oh why do I have to be in crisis before he will tackle these things???

I've been getting a few gifts from my students. Bless them, they are a lovely bunch, it gives me a little glow each time

My pain has been going mad tonight, I was going a little crazy earlier. Starting to lessen now thank goodness, but I can't see a peaceful night of sleep ahead of me. Boo.

Take care everyone and sleep well. Hope tomorrow is a better day for us all!

Bram.

I couldn't sleep last night...didn't fall asleep until some time after 5:30am and was up before 8am (not because I had to be...today is my day off...but just because I was). We got a delivery at work Saturday and the UPS drive dumped a bunch of bags at my feet...which in turn dumped a bunch of snow on my RSD ankle...OUCH!! I hit the floor instantly and have been feeling it pretty much since then. But I'm a little better today and since I work the next 6 days...I had to finish up my little errands today.

Since getting home though I've been parked on the couch in front of the space heater with Christmas music on the tv.

Just about 10 minutes ago I got up the energy to wrap a couple of little things for my boyfriends stocking and got them stuffed in there. I want to get the little gifts for work wrapped tonight...but I'm gonna wait a bit on that one. Thankfully...I just got gift bags for those gifts so it shouldn't take too much effort to make them look pretty.

Hope you start to feel better soon Bram. I know how frustrating it can be to not get the help you want with this sort of stuff. My boyfriend is the type to do things...but he gets them done in his own time...which is never as quickly as MY time table for things to get done...lol! The ONLY thing that will make him move faster is if I try to do things myself because he's taking too long...all the nagging in the world will not make him move any quick and (I suspect) actually makes him move slower with things. But I wouldn't change him for anything.

Nothing wrong with bags and tissue paper...they look pretty too! I've got about 1/3 of the gifts under my tree in bags and the rest are wrapped. Yay for getting the cards in the mail...sounds like you've got a keeper there Nanc.

Yes catra, he is definitely a keeper. In fact, he is cleaning up now because a co-worker of his is coming by tomorrow after work. I have had a really rough day myself with my leg, he doesn't want me to do anything. I would not trade him for anything, so lucky to have him

Hope your ankle is feeling better and good luck getting thru the next 6 days of work!
