Does anyone suffer with constant sinus infections etc that are accompanied with inner ear stuff and vertigo? Not sure if my vertigo is just positional. I have never had it more than a day and it has been over a week. ANy suggestions? I have been to the doctor and am going back this afternoon.

Hi suzi, I get some mild balance and vertigo symptoms occasionally, but nothing major, and I'm not sure how much of it is due to my leg being weaker, or the headaches, or tiredness....
![]() Sorry I cant help more. CRPS does such weird things sometimes, I find it hard to tell what is just common-or-garden minor issues, and what is CRPS symptoms. I had quite major vertigo symptoms many years ago for a few months, and it was an inner ear issue that resolved. You can have a build up of sediment in your ear canal (which sends messages to your brain about your head's position). The sediment can make these messages confused, so that sometimes your eyes are telling you that you are upright or still, but your ear canals are telling your body you are moving/lying down, etc. This confusion causes the dizziness, vertigo and nausea. There is a set of movement exercises you can do to help - they might be on a website if you search on google. I did them for about a week, and I think they helped. I'm not saying that's what you have, but it might be worth a try. Good luck with the doc, it's definitely worth seeing them if this is getting worse, as there can be several causes. I hope your sinus problems clear, it's miserable when they are blocked and painful. Take it easy for now, hope you get some sleep. Bram.

True vertigo (not dizziness) is an inner ear disorder that sometimes resolves on its own , but can be persistent. I have had it so bad I could not walk ( mine was totally unrelated to CRPS). In the US some docs and some physical therapists are trained in a maneuver ( don't remember what its called) to reset the little crystals of the inner ear. It is a simple movement of your head in a purposeful way that can correct the vertigo in minutes. For bad cases. Meclizine can be prescribed by a doc or nurse practitioner. Hope you feel better sooon!

The procedure is called the Epley manoeuvre, it's safe, and you can do it at home yourself. It's believed to cure 80+% of vertigo-symptom cases and is more effective than meds in many cases.
This is a link to a print out of the exercises: http://www.ncuh.nhs.uk/our-services/...uick-guide.pdf Give them a go as soon as you can - you might experience some dizziness while doing them, so have someone with you first time if you can. It really does help. Good luck and let us know how you get on! Bram.

I went to the Dr and he sent me for an MRI of my inner ears. All was clear and so I went to a chiropractor. He said that I had a vertebrate in my neck that was rotated. Am working with him right now, so hopefully this will resolve quickly and not become anything worse. Thanks for all your replies. I had tried the Epley maneuver and it didn't work for me; I guess cause it didn't do anything for my neck. Ha! Best wishes to all.
