Bram, oh gosh yes such a horrid problem with opoids, we all have learned the hard way. I've had a dozen bowel blockages and ended up in ER and subsequent admission where they give me a nasal gastric tube and stuff to make you go. Just horrible experience and I can totally relate to how you are feeling as you recover with all your nerves inside down there on fire.
After my last obstruction I went to a different hospital and they gave me movicol which is made there in Wales by Norgene, I think they are changing the name to sassol but it's sachets you can mix with water and take one or two morning and night, it keeps you moving and unlike coloxyl with senna it's not habit forming. I lost 14 inches of my bowel in 2001 after a botched hysterectomy and have a slow moving bowel before I even started with the opioids so we have to monitor what goes in very carefully. I'm supposed to have no more than 12 grams of fibre a day as fibre for me instead of broom sweeping as it does for many, it bulks up and doesn't move...
I really pray you can get some relief soon and this time will pass into a distant memory. You are a strong battler, we are all strong and we can get through this with each other's comments and help and advice.
My special Sunday prayers this week are for you, Hanna, Eva, HeidiB and Diandra. But that said, I say a prayer for all of us
