Default doctors near houston, texas

So I have an appointment to my pain management specialist Tuesday for a follow up for a nerve block in my knee. He hasn't officially diagnosed RSD yet but has been leaning more and more to it as other treatments fail. I've had some of ya'll tell me not to get the nerve block in my affected limb (but I had already done it when I got the message, oops). Seems to have made it a bit worse. Anyhow, so when I go to my follow up I'm hoping to get a referral to another doctor and was wondering first of all, what kind of doctor should I see? I'm thinking neurologist but my husband wonders if a rheumatologist would make more sense? And does anyone know of any doctors that are in the houston, texas area that are very knowledgeable about RSD? And lastly, if no one knows of anyone, how can I be sure I find a doctor who knows alot about it? Seems like if I were to ask they'd just say they knew alot simply because they've gone to medical school and covered a page or two about it. From what I'm learning here, there's a big difference between the Web md version of RSD and what you who've had it for years have experienced. Even my experiences don't line up exactly with "textbook" symptoms. I know there's not much even the best doctor can do to ebb the pain, but I want to be sure I get a solid diagnosis. I don't want a doctor saying I have it simply because he can't figure out what else it could be. I don't know. Maybe I'm just having a hard time accepting the likelihood that I do have RSD. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
