My PCP gave me the ok to see an Immunologist for the CFS. I know that CFS can be caused by Allergies and things that are wrong with the immune system so I am anxious to see one. My PCP told me which one to see so I won't have to go looking on my own. I hate that part. Trying to find one that will take my insurance.

I am so tired again that I can't stand up. I went for a walk today and had a time getting up on the curb from the street. Now that's bad. It's only about 8 to 12 inches.

I was wondering what kind of test they do for allergies and the immune system.

I've gone through allergy testing, and also had to put my youngest son through it too. It's not very comfortable, but there's no pain involved... mainly itching, lol.

They mark off your back into small squares and label each one to correspond to what they are testing you for. Then they take VERY tiny needles and inject the serum into the square. It's barely under the skin, not like a real shot at all.

Once they've done them all, they go back and examine all the squares. If you have a bump of any kind, you are allergic to that item. They can see by how much of a reaction you had, how bad the allergy is.

I don't know anything about having the tests done because you have CFS. Does it help them dx you? They do it to rule out allergies as a reason for your symptoms?

Well, if they find any severe allergies then you may have to get allergy shots. Those suck, I must admit. Not the shots themselves... but if you have a reaction to one, which can happen at any time, it can be quite painful. I had shots for years as a child. Maybe they're done differently/better these days, lol.
