Default lumbar fusion and rsd

so I recently had a lumbar fusion. when I say recently I mean less then a week. My nerves were severly damaged and my spine was really offset.

Now my hips, thigh and calfs, are on fire and I am getting no relief. Can't sleep, and I remember when I was first dx. with rsd, I wanted my leg cut off, that is how I feel. I am taking 2400 mg neuron tin, oxy, soma. anybody got any suggestions?

I am tired and in pain.

Thanks

So sorry you are going through so much! Are you taking Vit C to help with spread? 500 mg daily for 6 weeks. Are infusions of any kind an option at this point? Lidocaine or ketamine? You may also consider a two to three week round of oral steroids. That could really knock things down and isn't particularly risky.

I hope you find relief soon,
sending prayers and Healing Love,

Yeah, I figured injections were out right now. Maybe ask about the short course of prednisone. Some doctors are reluctant to give it which is kind of funny considering if someone was having a bad allergy flare or asthma an allergist wouldn't hesitate. It does have its place. I took a course after my last surgery, we waited three months before trying it which was dumb because it did help and was only short term to keep things calm.

I hope you feel better soon!

I am so sorry you are in so much pain.
I had a lumbar laminectomy with fusion and instrumentation. Only the doctor that did the surgery cut me from hip to hip. Yep that's right through the skin, muscles, nerves, tendons, and everything else right down to my vertebrae. When I woke up and saw what he had done instead of the 4 inch vertical incision I thought I was going to have, he replied " oh, I had to get a piece of bone from each side of your hips". That was it!
It started from there, severe nerve pain, shocks down my buttocks, shooting pain into my legs, my femur feeling as if it were on fire, the feeling of water running down my legs, no feeling in my privates or half of my right big toe, severe muscle wasting in my right buttocks to where it looks like a softball hit me there and then left the huge indentation, itching and pricks on the bottom of my feet...among many many other things.
I was on everything antidepressants, high amounts of heavy pain meds with ibuprofen and Tylenol and antiseisure meds. I had many doctors and not one of them would entertain anything but pharmaceuticals. That's when I started my search. Books on health and natural healing and searching the net for help and testimonials of people who weren't trying to sell anything.
That's when I found Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth . Now it isn't like the microwave when you can cook your meal in seconds and pop it's done.....BUT if you stick with it you WILL BE PAIN FREE! I started with 1 tbs in the am. I immediately within 20 minutes found that I was so full of energy I had to go for a walk. It took me 1 week to go up to 2 tbs a day 1 in am and 1 at 4 pm otherwise I wouldn't be able to sleep because of the energy it gives you. At the 1 week marker all my joints were feeling great with no pain at all! (I have A.S. Ankylosing Spondylitis and it affects all of my joints) my back pain was down at least 25%. Then at the 2 week mark 50%, and by a month it was almost completely gone. It takes away the inflammation right away so I don't have to take the ibuprofen plus I have cut out all of the meds except for the pain med and I have cut that down by 65%, as I have to slowly wien myself down so I don't get sick. I also was depressed as a lot of you well know that chronic pain is depressing, and with the DE I feel great and that part is immediate. As soon as you start taking it you feel energy and hopefull instead of hopeless! With the DE I take 10,000 units of vitamin D (given to me by my doctor as my level was a 7 instead of the normal 50-100), he told me that 90% of the people in the U.S. is vitamin D deficient and that 10,000 units was good to take perminently. Then 1000 mg of Vitamin C, and a good multivitamin with only 50% or less iron due to the constipating affects. The DE has many many other wonder health benefits so GOOGLE it and read the testimonials you will be happily suprized!
Bottom line is that without this Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth I would be in bed and in pain feeling crappy and depressed!
Hope this helps you out
