Came across this article from the Pain journal reproduced by International Association of Study of Pain "global year against neuropathic pain campaign". It seems quite a shift in understanding with implications for personalised medicine. I'd be interested in your thoughts? What sort of phenotype do you think you are if any and has it fit with your experience of what works best with tmt? I clearly see myself as fitting into the Central neuroplasticity phenotype.

Am reading this and am confused....
"What is not stated in the current IASP criteria is that symptoms affect the extremities and occur distally, irrespective of nerve innervation territory. In the case of isolated proximal pain in specific joints (shoulder, hip) or symptoms in the head or torso, a diagnosis of CRPS should not be given. The existence of knee CRPS remains a topic of discussion" Does this mean that if your pain starts in your shoulder and moves down your arm it is not CRPS? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
