Default Bad Flare Right Now

i can't sleep. having a really bad flare up that pain meds are hardly touching. i think the weather being cooler at night is causing me to have increase in rsd pain. i know it's still summer but i am feeling the cooler weather slowly coming back and i am not looking forward to it. am wearing my pjs, a sweater, socks and heating pad along with cup of tea. since i can't sleep i guess i'll check the tv to see whats on. hmm... a snack sounds good too. might have to check the fridge as well for comfort foods. thanks for listening to me vent. it helps to just let it out sometimes. hope everyone had a low to no pain holiday weekend. enjoy!

I'm sorry RSD ME. I'm right there with you. Nights and mornings are always my worst. Hopefully you'll be able to get some good rest today, and that your flare can calm down! Sending HUGS!

Your description of yourself in PJs, socks and sweater with tea makes me just wanna come through the net with a soft hug and warm oatmeal strawberry bars.

I hope you feel better soon!

RSD,

I am so sorry, I hope you get through this. I, too, dread the coming colder weather, but so far since I started taking LDN and slowly weaning myself into slightly less warm shower and bath water I am "warming" up a bit. I have been able to exercise in an unheated pool, the water was in the 80's, for the last two weeks. I know I am still "cold," because everyone with me was boiling with the heat, while I was comfortable.

When I was so cold like you are I got no relief at all from socks, they actually seem to hold the cold in my foot and ankle, like you I had to sit with a heating pad-also an electric blanket. I pedaled on the InMotion device with an e blanket over me. I did this because I felt less cold when I kept moving.

At one point I was so cold and unable to warm up I considered setting up a teepee in my little den with a heater inside.

So Sorry you are having a bad night. Flare ups are the worst! I dread the cold as well. I was living in the caribbean for 7 years before CRPS forced me to move the end of last February. My body has forgotten what fall and bitter cold is like.

Have you tried a biomat? I lay on one to get cranial sacral massages & reiki. It feels incredible and I am thinking about investing (about $600). It truly warms you up from the center of your core and helps with circulation and pain. Some people have even gotten insurance to pay part of the mat.

I hope today is a better day and you are in less pain! Watching friends on Netflix is always my "go to" when I am in too much pain to even meditate. Somehow it helps a little.
