Thumbs Up

Hi everybody!

Houston is mine! Mwa-ha-ha. I took it back at the museum which was fabulous.

Driving 6 hours there and back and getting my foot shot up in between was less fun.

The good news. PM&R injected two areas of the deep surgical field where scar tissue is right over nerves. Hence the ultrasound. His statement was "God Bless, it's hard! Yeah I'll shoot that." Doc is a bit worried about any rupture so I am to sit on the couch eating bonbons for at least two weeks, preferably three. Back in the pool for me.

Less good news. He wants dermatology to treat the superficial keloid scar that is so painful. Since it's not a deep structure I guess it's not his thing. So I live with it or find someone to do it. I have had keloids that itch, sting and burn before -taking years to calm down. I keep hoping if this one settles then I have one less thing setting my nerves off. Maybe wishful thinking. I guess I can go see someone and get info. Geez, what's one more appointment at this point?

Thanks for all the prayers. There and back in one piece!

You reclaimed Houston, Yeah! Glad you enjoyed the museum, maybe doing something fun will make your stay on the couch a little easier. Hope you recover soon. Be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

I thought you might like that. I want to clone him. No luck with the Dallas provider I was checking into. Does not return my calls. May have to look further away. ~mac

Thanks everyone for all the heartfelt wishes. Thanks DejaVu for the lunch offer! I'm not giving up on eating some Bon-bons though. My doctor said he'd write me a note! Now if I could just find some In my healthy pantry. If it weren't so dang hot in Austin this week I would order some Neuhaus and we could all share.

So for the time being my foot feels pretty fabulous. Steroids so near the nerves coupled with being a bum have decreased my pain so much it is seriously like a 1 right now. I can't even believe it. I guess those nerves were more aggravated than I thought. I am always shocked every time I have a pain reduction because I think my pain has reduced a lot already. evidently it is pretty relative! Makes you wonder about how much we actually tolerate day to day that it becomes like static. Geez.

So we'll see how this turns out in the long run once I am up on my foot again using it. Hopefully more of that scar tissue will melt away and maybe it won't revert to quite so much discomfort.

Interestingly, my foot did not even flare a little after this set. In the past, injections have aggravated it but overall been worth it. This time I had what was likely normal soreness for a single day. Was it Ketamine? I dunno, never happened like this before.

Ooooh I hope, I hope it stays better a notch!
