Great thread so inspiring. Given me ideas of things to do next year or maybe even before. Thanks for sharing everyone. Love to read the positive.

Hrm since before diagnosis to finding out I have done:

Rode a horse (was in a walking cast, at the time we suspected a hairline fracture, not CRPS).
Almost fell OFF that horse, because of stupid walking cast.
Swam in the family pool for hours and hours, even though the water was brutually cold and painful at times.
Reached out to the community for help, I've always thought that it would be shameful for me to do so. Turns out? Not so shameful! I have a wonderful community!
Walked all around Vancouver City, and did sight seeing, despite the evil walking cast.
Took a plane ride to family and back, despite the air cast and air pressure causing pain, it was great!
Pushed myself to walk through the pain, until finally it got me.
Got married to my soulmate, my beautiful wife!
Got a second cat.

Hrm..Was a great year =D

Thanks to Little Paw for creating this thread and to all of you that contributed to this inspiring thread. I'm still trying to bring some fun back into my life and it's great to hear all the things you all have done. My accident that lead to CRPS happened 1 year ago this month. It's been a year of operating in crisis mode and just trying to adjust. I needed this to remind me that there is still fun to be had and a life to be lived. Thanks all~mac

I have not been able to do a whole lot since January when this all started, but the things that I have done when I can that were either accomplishment that I have been needing to do for years, or fun things include:

Started reading more books, both fiction and non-fiction.

Learned to add gel extensions on my nails and do some very intricate artwork on them. I have even learned to do my right hand as well as my left. This usually takes me several days to do as I can only sit at my table for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Unfortunately, I have not been able to do this lately due to tremors in my hands, not sure if it is related to the medications or CRPS.

Got rid of a lot of stuff that has just been sitting around unused for years. This is partly due to us slowly moving to our other house in the suburbs.

Met many wonderful people here that start great threads, such as this one, that warm my heart, and take my mind away from the pain momentarily.

I almost forgot, I had a pedicure in May. It was nice to be able to soak my foot in a Jacuzzi pedicure tub, but the pedicurist had to stop early since I could not handle the pain anymore. It was still nice to get out and do something and talk to other people.

Talking Yes!

As many of you know, I have been having an exacerbation. I was in so much pain yesterday, I did not expect to be able to walk at any length today.

However, TODAY I did not need a wheelchair at the hospital. I was happily walking with one forearm crutch for stability. I was there for some added tests.

I then went to a fun and beautiful café and enjoyed lunch with my DH.

Next stop was a brief stop at a large craft store.

I was able to walk on my feet for all of the above.

I was so pleasantly surprised!

We just never know, so I start each day with an open mind and -- hoping it will be a good day, for a change!

I am grateful for the ability to walk on my feet today.
All things considered, this was a "fun and amazing thing" today!

With Gratitude,
DejaVu
