Default Please keep my son in your thoughts

My youngest son called last night to let me know he was alive but heading to the ER as he crashed his snowmobile and was thrown off. Thankfully, he was wearing a helmet and all x-rays were negative for fractures. All the emergency personnel were a bit surprised that he walked away with only bruises.

Today, he is incredibly sore...mostly down his left side. He has an appointment with an ortho on Friday and will be trying to get in to his PCP tomorrow.

Naturally, I am worried about longer-term effects and very anxious that I am not able to accompany him to the doctor appointments or see him myself. I would greatly appreciate y'all keeping him in your thoughts.

Thank God he is OK and walked away with nothing more than bruises.

He is a very lucky young man. I will hold him in my thoughts over the next couple of days and hope that there are no long term effects.

You are both in my thoughts. I hope he has a speedy recovery. You might condsider asking him to take vit C for 2 weeks following the injury. Not that we know CRPS has a genetic component but I always have my sons take it following an injury just in case. ~mac

He is in my thoughts and prayers too. I hope that there are no long term effects. Head injuries are tricky like that sometimes, so thankful he had a helmet on.

Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. So glad he was wearing proper equipment and that it's not much worse.

Thank you! He explained the accident thusly:

Going about 70mph and hit a concrete berm. Flew 15 feet in the air, landing 70 feet from the sled. Sled then rolled over him.

We (he especially) are well versed on head injuries (I had a grade 3 concussion 9 years ago and diagnosed my grandson with a concussion via skype -lol), so not concerned with that particularly at the moment. More concerned that he has more of a spine injury (cervical & lumbar sacral). I hope he can at least get some relief tomorrow.

Wow! That was one heck of an accident. I am so glad he is okay, he is very lucky indeed.

I am keeping your son in my thoughts and hope everything checks out okay at his appointment. I'm sure he will be sore for a while!

Wow that sounds scary! I'm sure he is feeling it today and will be for a while. I'm praying he heals quickly and there are no surprises when the swelling goes down.

Hey Always,

Sons can be such a worry, I was and mine is.

Many of my worst Neurological/Spinal issues came about after I wrecked my bike at 80mph and crushed vertebrae in my neck, so make sure he gets checked out thoroughly over the course of a few weeks.

Thoughts and prayers coming for both of you.

Dave.

He is working on that Dave, thank you!

He discovered today that the ortho his PCP referred him to for a knee and shoulder issue before the accident will only see patients for one body part at a time. He will need several days off of work to cover every body part affected by the accident and Mamma is beyond livid about this 'practice'. I will be calling every ortho within 20 miles to find out if they are all doing things this way so I can find him someone who will address all the issues in a timely fashion.
