Default Emla

My daughter just received vaccinations and her doctor, wanting to make sure everything was as comfortable as possible put Emla cream on the injection sites. This cream needed to sit for 45 minutes or so but really numbed up the area. She had much less pain than my other daughter who did not have the Emla. Just thought I would pass it on to those who may need bloodwork or other needly things and would like to reduce the pain.

This Emala cream is just "awesome"!(I thought it was called emil cream?? LOL) I always ask for it for my 7 yr. old if she needs an I.V. She does not mind the needles for blood work. I also ask for this, as my veins are very hard to get at. you NEED TO ASK FOR THIS cream before you get your I.V. blood work done. especially if your afraid of needles. wonder if this stuff comes in a large jar, as I would like to numb my entire hand, wrist and shoulder up and make it go numb, numb for a longggggggggggggg time!! LOL thanks for this reminder, RSD mom! Love, Desi

I would recommend everyone carries a tube in your handbag.
It is invaluable and you just never know when you might need a blood test or IV done.
It is even helpful when going to a podiatrist to have nails cut etc.
I never leave home with out it
Cheers Tayla

Hi Desi,

I should have mentioned that I get it on prescription.
My Pain management doc keeps me supplied with a repeating script although a tube does last quite a long time usually.
Hope you can get someone to write you up for some---it is wonderful
Cheers Tayla
