Hi all,
Sorry it took me so long to get back with you all. I have had a very tough week. the doctor was trying to get me off the cymbalta by dropping me from 60mgs to 30 mgs. I was on 60 for 2 and a half years and 30 for one month. It sure did not work. For a whole week I kept getting worse instead of better by being very light headed, feeling nauseas, having a headache, and no appetite. While going through all that on sunday my left arm was going into muscle spasms nonstop. It was very painful and exhausting. I shut my stimulator off and it took 15 minutes to 30 minutes for the spasms to settle down. I then turned it back on and not 5 minutes later the spasms started kickiing in real bad, so I shut it off again taking 15-30 minutes to slow the spasms. I have had the stimulator off ever since. I played phone tag with my doctors and my attorney all day monday. Finally Tuesday I was prescribed the 60 mg cymbalta again. I took one at noon and later that afternoon my withdrawal symptoms went away. The only thing I am dealing with right now is major pain. Since I am afraid to turn my stimulator on I am having a lot of pain. I am going to try turning the stimulator back on tomorrow and pray that the spasms are minimal if not there at all. I do go see my doctor(dr. panozzo) on July 30 at 3:30. If the spasms do not stop they may put me on muscle relaxers. Are any of you taking muscle relaxers? If so can you tell me about what they do for you and if there are any side effects with them. I have never had a muscle relaxer so I would like to know what I am possibly looking at if they put me on the relaxers. They would put me on those relaxers to try and control the spasms. Are the spasms normal for rsd? I have never noticed anything like this before. When it happened nonstop sunday I was extremely scared. If any of you have any suggestions and or comments please talk to me. Thank you! Tracy |

Tracy,
Sending you ((HUGE Gentle PAIN FREE HUGS)) Sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. I get the horrible muscle spasms... Baclofen has helped with them and tremors, and I hear it's a good one for RSD, perhaps your doctor will try it. I take 30 mg of Baclofen daily, but was on Valium (which is old and not used much). I have the spasms so bad they lock my jaw... so what you are describing is NOT unusual. I hope things brighten up soon! ![]() |

Have you talked to the doc about tizanidine? I have more a tremor than spasms but I can't sleep with the tremor. Under extreme conditions the tremor has become massive and makes even walking problematical. It is 99% under control with the drug.
