Hi Molly,
I also have been having bladder problems. Sometimes I can't seem to go and then other times I just about make it. I was so embarresed the other day. I didn't make it. I thought it may be age. But now that you mentioned it I think I'll talk to my Doc on the next visit. Sue K. |

Hi Frogga - its S - new bad things happening all at once, including loss of sensation in legs as well. Very very scary time, hating all this, I'm feeling world's most useless carer, she feels world's biggest burden as she is starting to need wheelchair also.
And, to top it all off, both of us now are too disabled to work full-time any more. |

Oh Mollsy..
That really really sucks!!! It will sort itself out - it always does! I told S to look forward to coming over to europe as something to aim for - are you coming too?? It would be great to meet you both. I'm sorry there is nothing I can do to make things better but if you need suggestions or anything like that then feel free to pick my brain!! I can't believe how work are treating you both! They are so out of order! It sounds like working for them is making you +S much much worse...!! Oh - with carers/ carees... I always feel a dumb idiotic burden whilst most of my carers are bemused and perplexed and out of their depth.. Dunno if this helps but we take the p*** out of each other all the time, I learn to say what I want as simply as possible and try very hard not to either nag or order someone to do something in a particular way. Although I am not a routine person I have a vague routine which means that my new carers can start to know what needs doing and when otherwise you end up dressed by 3pm and eating lunch at 10!! I find it's the stupid little things that take the time - getting dressed takes forever etc.......... This has probaly been no help at all.. I am really sorry over the work thing.. BUT make S get a bright pink wheelchair... Love ya and hope things improve Froggsy xxxxxxxxx |

This just happened to me the other day.. Thank God I was on break at work and happened to have a shirt long enough to hide the stain.. I ran to a nearby store and bought some cheap pants to get through the day.
![]() I don't have numbness in that area, but was frightened to experience that.. Until the evening I couldn't feel any urge from my bladder, but made sure I went to the loo several times and would pee just a few drops. I wore a pad for the rest of the day and am concerned that it will happen again. I've had rsd for nearly 10 years and it affects my left side, from head to toe. Any ideas why or suggestions for help? ![]() Xoxo Shalom ![]() |

Hi Shalom and Welcome,
I'm so sorry you had to go through that. What a debacle! I always think it best to check with your doctors and get any pertinent consults when new concerning symptoms arise. You never can tell whether it is RSD related or not and knowing will drive your treatment. I hope you find relief and answers soon, ![]()

Yes definitely, you just can't say it's "RSD" and be done with it. You have to be checked out and they need to see if it's something else first.

In the meantime, when you are going out, wear some protection for your own peace of mind. It was great to see that even with your entire left side involved you are still able to work. Please give us an update when you have some answers. Posts like this are very helpful. Shay ![]() |

I had severe post-partum incontence from my son's head compressing nerves that involve the bladder, and also shifting things around in there. It was very hard to manage emotionally but you can get big poise pads and even underwear to disguise it. It improved up to a point. Finally I told my Gyn and she evaluated it and I had surgery to fix it.
Now the methadone gives me hesitation instead! Be careful what you wish for? Moral of the story is, talk to a urologist first. Rule out the simple (when you hear hoofbeats....) before going to the neuro (zebra). For the bowel issues, talk with a GI, they can make sure things are ok physically and help you at least with management (bowels can be trained). Good luck! |

Hi Molly. I'm sorry you have rsd and are having problems with your bladder. The past few months I've been having trouble with mine too. I spoke to my gynecologist about it and he prescribed some meds for me. I just got them so I don't know if they will work or not. If they don't I am going to see a urologist. I have had rsd for about six years now and had three abdominal surgeries due to endometriosis and gallstones. I am on gabapentin and pain meds from my PM dr. I don't know if my RSD or my surgeries or my meds are causing this problem either but I hope the meds my dr gave me will help. I do not have the numbness in my legs though. I am not a dr but if I were you I would see one to see what they think is causing your bladder problem. I understand how upsetting it is. I am upset it is happening to me as well. I hate RSD too! Hope you feel better soon.
