Default other illness made worse by rsd?

Hi everyone,
When those of us with rsd get sick with colds, stomach virusis, etc do we feel worse because of rsd? Does this make the little thiings seem to be so much harder to get over? Thanks.

HI SUE,
i have read that since our bodies are in a state of constant stress, our immune sytems do have a rough time getting over things. and i must say i agree. i do take vitamin supplements and that helps, but we are weakened by this entire constant process.

Hi ya Sue! Great post there!! Ya know Sue.. come to think of it, I have NOT had a summer cold in?? hmmmm.. don't know when??? Now, this summer, I came down with strep and a cold so bad, I still have a little of it!! I mean, I never had to go to the doctor's even when I got one in the winter, unless it was so bad, I couldn't get over it!! This last one was a real doozie! The first sign of it, it started up fast, like in overnight fast! I was really one sick puppy! seemed like I couldn't get up!!My doc. gave me antibiotics for the strep throat, but the cold was terriable. I too take all kinds of vitamins, but still got this bad. I believe our immune system is really outta wack from this awful RSD beast Love ya! Desi

I've had a couple of bad colds, maybe 3, since getting this beast. I noticed right away that I felt wayyyy worse than I did before RSD. It makes my body hurt much, much more and keeps me feeling blah longer than it used to. In thinking on the duration....I don't think it lasted any longer for me, I think.

Now talking cuts, even small ones, it does take me A LOT longer to heal. Pre-RSD I healed very quickly and unless it was a deep kind of cut didn't leave a scar. Now even a small non serious cut will leave a scar behind. It's the only difference I've really noticed as far as that all goes.
