Jenno,
Thanks for your reply! I am so glad that your daughter's pain is relieved by the ongoing use of the mild chamber. May i ask you how old is your daughter? How long did she had her RSD before using the HBO therapy? I am wonder is age a factor. I am 49 years old.
I also noticed improvement a few sessions after the HBO. However, i did not obtain a complete pain relief after even 30 sessions. Instead i had about 40 to 50 % reduction of pain after the 30 sessions. Therefore, i have been wondering what if i went back and have more HBO or different prescription, etc. to see whether or not i will achieve more pain relief. For the moment, i am not looking into renting one. When the time come, i will post here again so that you can help me out.
Vic,
In regards to GSE, is it a supplement? Where can i get it? I am willing to try anything that may help the RSD pain.

Hi again,

My daughter will be 17 next month. She started hyperbarics 2-1/2 years after being diagnosed with RSD. If I remember correctly, her first treatments were at 2.4 ATA for 90 minutes. Later they were at 2.0, as the original treatments were very fatiguing for her. Her home chamber is about 1.5.

There is a neurologist in Florida (Allan Spiegel, Palm Harbor, FL) who has had a lot of success treating RSD with hyperbarics. His office mailed me a DVD of testimonials by patients who had successfully been treated with hyperbarics. They were of varied ages, some having had RSD for over 20 years, all having found no relief through previous treatments. This is not where we went, but I appreciate that they are getting the word out about hyperbarics. I tried to attach a link but I have not made enough posts yet.

One more thing I wanted to mention. A person would have to be fairly mobile to get in and out of the home chambers, so they would not work for all RSD sufferers.

Wishing you the best in your search for answers & help!!

This is an article about a girl that lives in the UK, has RSD and has an HBOT chamber in her house.

Hope it helps:

Hi Ali,

Isn't Zoe's story amazing!! Have you started hyperbarics yet? Sure hope that you will have your own miracle story to share.

Hi Alision and Jeanne,
Thanks for the info! I did not realize that the HBO pressure should be no more than 2. My doc prescribed me with 2.5 ATA for 30 sessions. I also don't realize you will need HBO for the rest of your life to maintain the improvment.

Hey Numb,

My daughter's first 40 treatments were at 2.4. They cut them down to 2.0 later as that was less fatiguing. Further research will hopefully better define the best pressure.

As far as needing hyperbarcis the rest of your life ... that too is yet to be seen. If that proves to be the case, that is probably not much different than taking meds the rest of your life ... especially if you can access them in your own home.

Hoping that more and more people have access to treatments so that some of these answers will be available.

Take care.

Jeanne,
I have more questions. Have your daughter been using HOB every day at home? Is there an side effect for the continue use of HOB,i.e. organ demage, etc?

Numb,
My daughter does use her chamber most every day (usually for about an hour); however, it has been recommended that she take off a few days every now and then just to give her ears a rest. As far as your question about organ damage, I have never heard of that being a possible complication. From what I have read, hbot has very few side effects; but ideally more research will need to be done to further clarify the facts about hbot for RSD. Sadly, I think it will be a long while before all the answers you are looking for are available. Did you read the other post today about hbot? That person, too, has their own chamber and may be able to provide you with some help. I know from reading your other posts that you are seriously looking at all your options ... and I wish you the best in this search for the best possible treatment.
