Heather
Sorry its taken so long to reply
You asked about the frequency of the spasms
They are pretty much on a four minute cycle - during the first three minutes of each cycle just the toe twitches and tremors on a regular basis - eventually this builds up the the whole leg shaking from the thigh down for the last minute of the cycle, then the whole thing starts again
The frequency can be made worse if Ali has a knock - which is inevitable when the leg is so "active"
Hope this helps

hey, Ali, I just learned about your video and guess what! My left leg does the same thing if I sit still too long. My toe is not as talented as yours, not ready to go solo, I suppose. You know that I have MS, and this started a couple years ago for me. I'm 45.

I will try to get a video of mine so you can see it in action. I should warn you, my leg and foot aren't nearly as cute as yours.

Heart Hey...

Thanks for the laugh about my foot lol, I always think my leg is ugly!!

I am so sorry to hear that your leg does it too and that you are dealing with MS. It would be great if you could post a video of your leg spasming as i'm sure it would help so many people.

My leg is now spasming every minute and even does it when I am walking now which it never used to do. I have been having bad pain over the last few days with it so my doctor has prescribed me something to try and help me sleep. I am starting my PT program in just under a month so hopefully that should help somewhat

Take care
Love and best wishes
Alison

My leg does not spasm like yours at all. MY thigh has started to spasm in the last week. Did yours start out like that or was it progressive?

Heart

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that your thigh has been spasming too

The spasms started in my toes about 2 months after the injury that lead to the RSD. I then had an ingrown toenail removed in April and it caused the whole of my leg to shake/spasm.

My doctor says this happened because my nerves are so "hyper" at the moment. I also have Dystonia (a movement disorder) so my doctor believes that that could be making things worse.

Love and best wishes
Alison

Default Leg spasms

Ali, thank you so much for posting the video. I have leg spasms too. Not quite to that level yet but getting there. it is so comforting to know that someone else has somethng you have and that you havent been misdiagnosisd. Ofcourse I am very sorry we both have them. I was worried my might have MS now too. But I guess it is just another manifestation of RSD.. thank you again Ali. Nice to hear from you too. CZ
