Default survey on barametric pressure change

Here I go again. I want to know how many of us have a problem with barometric pressure change. My foot hurts at a ten decree change and depending on how major of pressure change, depends on how many break through meds and how badly I want to cut my foot off. (no I won't do it.) But at that moment I have prayed about it.

Hi Alt1268,
Count me in as having a huge problem with barometric change (or if there is a full moon I have increased pain too). I find as soon as the barometric change goes up my pain goes up. When it is steady or falling I am fine...it is the going up part that increases my pain AND (AS YOU SAY) makes me want to cut off my foot too!!!!

I am praying alot like you are and it does help me lots. I am working on trying not to let my mind tell me yes my foot will hurt because of the full moon or increase in barometric change. I am trying to psych myself out. I have noticed lately it is helping me. It takes a long time to accomplish even trying it but I am believing that my mind controls alot of my body...sometimes my mind wins and I have less pain and other times I lose and my pain is worse. I am also trying not to upset myself or stress. I know that is a hard one for me as well as others too. I will get upset but then stop myself and think that I will not let anything upset my health as I have come so far esp in this last year. A year ago I felt as though I was going to die and began accepting it. Now, this year...I want to be one of the minority of rsders that it goes into remission permanently!! That is my goal.
Take care and hope you pain gets lower today.

Alt, Me too! I believe I would make a good forecaster (lol). Rain and foggy weather is the worse. Lately my lyrica isn't working on my flare ups.

Kathy, I listen to classical music to calm my flare ups. Try it! I also play my piano to take my mind off of it too...

Thanks Kathy and Jimbo, I never put it together with the full moon. I guess I will need to be more observaton.
My pain is horrible during a storm, esp. right before when the change is occuring. Sometimes I am on so much medicine I can't see the TV the next day.

I have huge problems with barometric pressure changes as well. I can always tell when it's going to rain. And sometimes the barometric pressure changes are smaller, but I still feel a slight difference in symptoms with it, like an increase in sensitivity. My physical therapist said this could mean that there's rain in the next state over, for example, so there's still pressure changes but not something that we can observe with changing weather over our heads.

Moist heat seems to make a difference during this time. I never thought I'd be able to handle heat before I tried it at PT one time, but it has to be moist heat, not dry. I also can't do it if the burning is really bad at the time. It seems to help with sensitivity pain anytime too for a couple hours.

MEEE!! It really gets on my nerves too!! I don't complain to anyone any more, although friends and family call me if they want to know the weather. The full moon I haven't really thought about, but maybe that's when I just have no answers for a flare.

the full moon thing I think is a good explanation why everyone seems to be hurting the last couple days. Today, my leg feels like its in a vice, so I will say its going to rain either tonight or tommorrow. right now the sun is out.

Besides the moon thing going on it's been overcast ready to rain all day. My burning pain has been at level 4/6 last couple of days with flare ups to 9. I'm trying to make an early appointment with neurologist for the RSD spreading to my whole leg and my hip. The one side of my chest feels like a weight on it too...
