|
I am trying to work myself up to getting some blood draw since my doctor ordered it well over a week ago. Do you do alright with blood draws if you have RSD or is it a definite way to spread this miserable disease? I have RSD in my left arm - hand to shoulder for about 1.5 years.

I've had blood drawn numerous times in the last year since I got RSD. I've had several IV's for procedures, and I've had no problems. My doc said to have them use the other arm. I don't know about other people. I hope this helps. Susie

Hi Coffiebean..
I have gotten flare ups from medical procedures IV's etc.. and I find it tones back after a bit of using the area as normaly as possible and vitimin C, if you have any flare ups take an extra 1000mg of vitimin C for a bit till it settles back to normal, the antioxadents in vitimin C helps aleviate the inflamation to any new trauma areas and is a good idea to take anyway as it has been known to actualy stop RSD when taken early enouph. luck bud. |

I've had some blood draws and and IV since getting RSD. I have RSD in all limbs,and hips. The only problem I had was with the IV. Luckily they had put it in as a precaution in the ER but it came out about half an hour after it went in. I was literally screaming in pain from that. With blood draws, no problems. It made my arm ache and hurt a bit more than normal for a few days but with no "good" arm, it turned out really well.
 I wouldn't worry about getting your blood drawn.Hugs, Karen
