Millerprof - I am doing much better with the type of pains that you describe since the doctor put me on Keppra. Not only does it help with the deep bone pain, but it also works wonders on the sharp stabbing and shooting pains in my legs and feet. They don't understand the mechanism by which it helps with nerve pain but it does work for me. Best regards, EJ |

My RSD leg gets very cold. When I am in the worse pain I get cold chills. I wear a blanket in the living room all year long for heat and to keep the animals from loving on my leg. I have to remind them they forget. If I can't handle it anymore I go to bed and wrap the comforter around me. I can't wear socks as it increases my pain level. But it works with the comforter wrap. I usually fall asleep and wake up better. I too have the hot and cold going on. So the comforter is on and off as I adjust to the tenperartures. The leg is always cold.

So sorry you have the hot and cold going on.Thanks for the laugh about the animals.I think they have a 6th sense and can tell when we hurt.My cat always wants to lay on my cold foot or cramped muscle.Or even my stomach when it hurts, her purring does help with the indigestion but she weighs too much to let her lay on me for more than a few minuets. She really does seem to know when I am feeling real bad.Too bad humans can't pick up one the signals! Then they would stop asking how do you feel they would know ! Cold crampy and in pain Denise |

I've found that my hot water bottle is my best friend, I use it constantly. I have one that has a nice soft fleece cover on it that can be removed to be washed. Even if it is just next to my foot-leg under the covers it seems to keep a good steady heat throughout the night. |
