That is a great letter, I do hope they consider the information given.

But I'll still suggest that some people just don't know ,or can't, or won't put out the effort to learn or even be supportive..
sad but true...

I had one set of grandparents that were so awesome, always...

The other widowed grandmother was pretty self centered and very old fashioned acting -
as a child it was always come pay your respects, ask about her and listen to her go on and on about being old and can't wait until the lord takes her...
she lived to a ripe old age but even in her 50s she was talking that way..
she never really talked with us kids that I can recall.. it was kind of the old thing of " children should be seen and not heard"..

anyway the reason I mentioned that is some folks just aren't made to deal with things and at least you have your mom & her parents on your side..
So try to not let it make you all stressed and upset - someday they may come around...

Ali, I am sorry your Grandparents havent been there for you. I think you have tried all you can & the ball is litterally in their court. If they don't respond from your friends letter you will know where you stand. That might be very painful but at least you will know. Soemtimes its more painful to keep cruel people in our lives than to just cut them out.I know. It took me until I was 30 years old to finally quit having all contact with my biological father & his family. Eight years later I promise you that removing that poison from my life was one of the best things I have ever done. Its a long story but it wasn't a nice situation. I hope for your sake your grandparents come around & you dont have to make those hard choices.
hugs, Denny

You could be talkin about one of my grandparents !!! LOL

Today was my day with a couple of my grandkids, and I wore the lil ones out. Took them to KFC for some of their favorite food, and on the way back I noticed it was real quite......looked in the rearview mirror to see them sleepin

Their mommy lucked out this time, usually I bring them home wound up on candy and soda LOL.

That was a real nice letter Ali. If that dont make them think then they are made of stone. I sure hope things get back to normal for you and the grandparents

Thank you all ever so much for replying - it really helps to know that you are all here when I need to let off steam so thank you all so much .

Jo - I'm so glad you liked the letter. I am hoping that it will open my grandparents eyes also but like you said, some people just don't want to listen or try and help. My grandparents can be very stubborn when they want to be so i'm not sure if the letter will help ... all I can do is cross my fingers and hope for the best!! I'm sorry that your grandmother wasn't very nice to you - you could be describing my nanan there lol. Take care, Alison.

Dennyfan - Thank you for replying. I have to agree with you completely that sometimes it is better to just try and forget about the ones that are horrible and try and move on. It will be hard to move on but it might be for the best, if the letter doesn't work. I have been so tempted to tell them exactly how I feel but there is always something that stops me - the fact that they are my grandparents and they are the only ones I will probably ever have. It's hard to try and move on at such a young age ... like it is for anyone. Thank you ever so much for repling. Take care, Alison.

I will keep you all updated and let you know if we hear anything else backf from them!

Thanks
Alison

Ali

That is a nice letter your friend sent.I hope you get some positive answers from your grandparents. My mother and some other family members are questioning if this (RSD) is real. They won't even call it by name.

I wish you all the best Ali.

Keep us posted.
