Default I'm So Proud To Be An American

I'm extremely proud of this day. It means sooo much to me to know that there are young men and women currently risking their lives for us. And even some not so young. Many prayers for those who have sacrificed their lives. My flag is flying proudly today. I salute all. Have a great day!

GOD BLESS AMERICA

Chin Up!!!

Mark

A special thank you to all the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country.

My grandson and I went to the Veteran's Day service this morning. We always have a parade here in our little town and the veterans march in it. The people people applaud as they march by. There is a canon salute and taps at 11 o'clock. Even the children stand with their hands on their hearts while the national anthem is played.

There was a downpour while the parade was going on and everyone was soaked. Someone pushed an elderly lady in a wheelchair. She was a military nurse and was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked.

When I moved to south Florida I was disappointed that no one observed Veteran's Day. I guess everyone is too busy to thank those who make our way of life possible. How sad. Lil

I too salute all who have served & are serving.
My Dad was a cook in the Marine Corp at the end of WWII
My huband seved in the US Army during the 60's
My oldest nephew, Jess, was in Iraq when it started, in the Marine Corp, the group he was in were one of the 1st to cross the Kuwait border in Iraq. He came home safe & sound.
His brother Will, has served a 7 monht tour also in the Marine Corp & under fire every day. He was injured, but not badly a year ago about now. He goes back to Iraq next spring.
My husbands eldest grandson is in the Marine Corp also. He is stationed on the east coast right now. We also raised Michael from around the age of 13.

Guess you could say the men of this family tend to lean towards the Marine Corp huh???

I do pray that it does end as soon as is feasible. But as long as the fighting goes on I will & do support our Armed Forces.
