Ok.. So you all know that i have been having bad vertigo spells, and for the past couple of days it has been constant or i have to tilt my head just right and be care full on how and what i look at. So I read that someone went to a chiro for it and i have an appt with a chiro tomarrow at 10 am to see if he helps it. and i also have an appt with my ENT next week to talk about him killing the rest of my hearing in my bad ear. He mentioned this before and i was hesitant because at that time the meds were working!! and its been alsmost 2 weeks of this and i cant deal wit it anymore!! I can handle the pain of RSD and walking funny, but take this and add vertigo.. i have no control over this and its pushin me over the edge.
I have little hearing in the ear anyhow? And he said that if this was done that this would cure my vertigo!!! SO i was wondering if anyone has had this done and does it really cure the vertigo?? Any help would be in for ever in my debts!! I dont know how much longer.... but pray that this works tomarow!! Thanks guys!! Amber |

An Ear, Nose and Throat specialist is the first one to do the manuever on me that I decribed in another post about Vertigo. You might want to ask him about the manuever to get rid of it. Mine stayed gone for quite some time and then my PCP did the manuever on me and it never came back. That was about 3 years ago.
I don't know what you are talking about when you talk about him killing the hearing in your ear. Never heard of that. I do hope that he can help you in some way. I don't know about a chiropractor but I would assume they could deal with it also. I hope you do find some relief soon, Amber. As I said before, I worry about you falling while you have it. Ada |

purely the worst is lying down vertigo - where you are lying in bed and feel the room spinning - and thats without alcohol..... (or you are lying on your side and you feel like you are spinnning)
I HATE vertigo - I get it pretty badly when I'm in flare up and have milder episodes normally. Hope you find a way to beat it soon angel ... it's horrible to live with. Mine is now generally under control now apart from flare up (I use a tilting wheelchair most of the time - and just being able to be leaning backwards by 15 degrees/ 20 degrees really helps me day to day) right - i now HAVE to do some work... Hi Amber,
I'm really keen to hear how it went with the chiro. I've *still* got the vertigo too. Been a little better for the past couple of days, but that happened last week and it came roaring back, so I'm not holding my breath. The spin has reduced (as of yesterday) to a stop/start spin, but movement causes a terrible lag. It's a real problem, it really is. BUT, I'm going to be honest - and you must remember I speak entirely for myself, I have good hearing, no pain, no infection, no tinnitus, no ear history, so obviously a very different case - but I would absolutely not do anything drastic. I've now researched vertigo more and there can be several different causes. In my case it could even be Cervical Vertigo caused by cervical spondylosis ( ![]() Statistically, apparently, vertigo is the second most common reason for people to visit their doctor, after back problems. Of course that covers vertigo proper, like we've got, plus dizziness as in the "I think I'm going to faint" type. Anyway, all that doesn't really get us anywhere does it ![]() ![]() Well, I'm just hoping for a good result for you from the chiro, I guess... all the best! |

There are some vertebral artery symptoms at the bottom of the chart on this TOS page-
http://www.tos-syndrome.com/newpage12.htm It can come from the c spine bones or from neck muscle spasms pinching the veins or pulling the bones out of alignment. or it could be from ear/vestibular causes or a host of other things too. I hope you find a good chiro that will do a thorough precise exam first and NOT just grab your neck and crack it. Keep away from those types. mine is very precise about feeling for the placement of the bones - he only adjusts if he can feel a problem - and he also is familiar with soft tissue conditions too
