Grin Story of an Angel in disguise!

hey all,

I just wanted to share a little about this morning that happened to me.
As you all know I live in the lovely state of Iowa where we get all kinds of wacky weather. Well it just so happens from last night and today I am guessing we got pretty close to 6 inches of snow and now today the wind is blowing it seems like 90 mile an hour but really it is probably between 30 and 40 mph. Well of course that is going to cause drifting. Oh I forgot to tell you we live in the country on top of a hill ( well the house is anyway) so it seems that we get the wind pretty bad. Anyways on with my story. In order to get to the shop and our wood burner we have outside I had to shovel through drifts that were about waist high on me and I am only 5 foot tall. With my rsd it was so tough and I would shovel about 3 or 4 scoops and take a break because it hurts so bad.So of course it was taking me a while to shovel just from the house to the shop which there were also 3 steps that I had to find as well. I would say that the shop is at least a good 15 feet if not more away from the house. As I got further towards the shop I was hurting so bad I just wanted to throw the shovel and say heck with it because of the pain. Not only was I frustrated I was crying because I couldn't do it anymore. I just wanted so badly to be who I use to be and knew and know that is never going to happen. Just as I was about to give up this black truck with a snow blade went by and then turned around in the four way and came back. They started to blade my driveway out and they don't know how much that helped me because I had to at least shovel in front of the shop (the shop is a 40'x40') as well so I could get to the wood burner which is outside. They bladed our driveway out all the way and I asked them if I owed them anything and they said no we just seen you shoveling and thought we would help you. I asked if they were sure they said they were positive. I thanked them more times than I could count. If only they really knew how much that helped me. There were no vehicles that passed by before they came while they were working and when they were done. I don't know who these guys were but I sure wish I could find out. I would at least send them a thank you card and let them know how much I appreciated it. If there is anyone out there that doesn't believe in God they are crazy. I believe God knew I needed help and he sent these angels in disguise to help me out. There is no other explanation for what happened today. I kept thanking God for sending these angels to me and I still get teary eyed when I think about it. I know some of you might think I might be crazy but i a very serious I believe they were angels in disguise. IF it weren't for them I would have been out there a lot longer and in so much more pain than I am now. I know a person that might know who these guys were and I might still be able to let them know what they did for me was one of the greatest things they could have done for someone like me. It is wonderful to know that there are still a few people out there that will do this kind of thing. Do any of you read the chicken soup for the soul books? Well I thought I would try and write this up in a short story form and then get on there website and see if they could use any short stories in this form. IF they can I am going to submit mine and see if I can get it published. I know there is never any promises but I love to write and I thought this might be a good start, to start fresh from writing poetry all the time. I have a 90 page set of poems that could have been published many years ago for $8000. I said no cuz I didn't have that kind of money at that time. To me that was a new car. So I know it is worth publishing I just can't find anybody that won't charge such an outragious price.Sorry I got off track a little. Just thought I would share my idea with you all and get your opinions. Stupid idea or not to make a short story and try to get it published? Thank you all for taking the time to read this even though it is rather long.You all take care and I will meet back up with you soon.

Sincerely,
Tracy

Awwww, that's so nice, Tracy!

It's a good thing you made the effort to shovel, even though it was painful for you. If they hadn't seen you out there, they may not have stopped and helped. So bravo to you!

You could write up a story for the local newspaper to publish about your "angels in disguise." Then perhaps they would see it and know how much you appreciate their good deed. Who knows? Maybe you will see them again after the next snowstorm!

Default What I love

What I love is the fact that you recognized the gift sent your way and are grateful!!! Recognizing goodness and gratitude has a very positive impact on our lives. When you pay it forward, you will also now know the joy you have given someone else. Thanks for the inspiration. Di

There's plenty of magic in the world whether you believe in angels or not.

Here's a little angelic magic;

The Bible says in Hebrews: "And do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so, you may be entertaining Angels without realizing it".

I absolutely agree with you that God sent those Angels to help you shovel the snow. More importantly, He sent those Angels to tell you that He is right there with you and cares about every single one of your needs.

Thank you for your inspirational story!!! We all need to be reminded that we are NOT alone!!
