unfournatly block only last a couple of hours on always have went a couple years withouth them and november was the last time i had stellet ganglion block it last maybe 12 hours . the fentnly helps me be able to acutally get up out of bed i have 2 young kids(8and 5) having to be active with them its kinda like my pt . my rsd is basiclly head to toe and internally

Go to needymeds.com. When I was without any perscription coverage for 9 months I got everything but one med free thru them. Yes you have to fill out forms & give them your life's history but it pays off. you look up the name of the med you are on & they give you the info you need to contact the pharmaceutical company for the free or next to free meds. It takes work, but when you have no money or coverage the work is worth it. Needymeds.com saved my life.

I take Neurontin for the burning pain, long acting Morphine, & OxyCodone IR (for break thru pain {BTP}) & Baclofen for spasms, specifically for pain. I take Trental to open up all the timy blood vessels better than they already are & Evoxac for dry mouth due to Sjogrens Syndrome. Luckily for myself the only other 2 meds I take are for tummy probs & allergy probs. I take nothing else at all. Been on the above regimen for 4.5 yrs now. And like I said, I got it all but the one, Evoxac FREE when I was without perscription insurance coverage. Oh, instead of generic Morphine tho I was on brand name Kadian. It was the only morphine on the list at the time. Hopefully this will help you.

Well....I just asked you in another post where your RSD was and now I read this. How horrible for you. I am so sorry. How and when did your RSD start??? How long did it take it to go full body??? I think mine may be spreading up to my waist in both legs in only 2 months. I thought just a few days ago I was headed for remission......it must have been the calm before the storm.

I have done some checking around on prices at different phamacy's to find a cheaper one to help us in the situation we're in and I did find costco was one of the most expensive pharmacy's that I checked out. If you have a wal-mart around where you live check them out or maybe walgreen's. I am getting 2 of my prescription meds there and they are both together just under $100. I have purchased there card for $20 per year and am saving $93 on one med alone at walgreens. I just took a prescription to wal-mart pharmacy and costed me $8 for 30 days. Hers was a generic of prozac. If I were you I would check it out if I were you it doesn't cost you any money just a little time. These are the meds I am on:Lyrica, Cymbalta,Skelaxin,Nabumatone, Generic xanax xr and generic ambien. That gets kind of pricey every month,but I would still check out other pharmacy's for their prices. Just a thought. Hope it helps. Take care and good luck.

I have suffered from RSD for 7 years. Throughout that time I have tried numerous drugs Lyrica, Neurontin, Fentanyl, on & on - some too expensive to take long term, some just didn't work. I have found .. after MUCH TRIAL and PAIN .... a combination of medications that are reasonably priced and work for my pain and all of the other symptoms RSD throws at you. Here it is - and it does work. You need to realize that you have to build a level of the drugs in your body first, and then keep that level and I believe it will help. HERE IT IS - Tried & True for Me:
Morphine Sulfate Extended Release ( MS Contin CR ) (Dosage to be tweeked
by treating MD)
Morphine Sulfate Immediate Release - For Breakthrough Pain Only
An Anti-Seizure Medication (I believe this is crucial)- Klonopin 1mg BID
An Anti-Inflammatory Rx - I take Lodine 400 mg - but there are others.
An Anti-Spasmotic Rx - I use Flexeril. It works but you MUST build up a level and keep that level at all times. I prefer Soma - but docs don't like to write RX for Soma (have no idea why)
I keep Phenergan around because if I miss my meds, and my pain comes back with a vengeance, I will be vomiting and then passing out. SO, for what it is worth --- THESE DRUGS / THIS COMBINATION WORKS. GIVE IT A MONTH. IF YOU KEEP IT IN YOUR BODY AT A LEVEL THAT WORKS, IT SHOULD GIVE YOU A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR A REASONABLE COST.

P.S.: I have T R O U B L E FINDING DOCTORS WHO WILL WRITE FOR MORPHINE FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. I HOPE YOU DON'T HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM.

I'm sorry you are suffering so much. You are the injured one and WC has a legal obligation to care for your medical treatment and meds. I've never dealt with them myself, but know most people I know have an attorney to protect your legal rights,, and your medical wellfair. Some states WC provides lifetime medical care for injury at work. Never sign off any of your rights without consulting an attorney. To look for an attorney, you can go to yellow pages under WC or go to RSDSA and look under support then there is a space for your zip code. It will give you the local RSD Support Group Leader and their phone number. Someone in the group probably is familiar with the legal community.
Keep tract of all your expenses, meds and they should go retro active and pay for your past medical expenses. I get all my meds at Costco. I pay $10 for 180 vicodin. Something that helps vicodin work better is taking an anti-anxiety med- it calms the sympathetic nervous system down. I take Lorazepam 2 mg. 3 x day, I've cut back of that since I started another med.

I take MS Contin 30mg and Morphine Sulfate 15 mg for Breakthrough Pain. Both are reasonably priced. Those drugs combined with Klonopin (Clonazepam) really work for me and all three meds are reasonable priced. BUT... I can not find a physician who is willing to prescribe these drugs for more than 4 or 5 months & then they want to implant a Morphine / Fentanyl Pump. I manage on oral meds ok and don't want another surgery. Sorry for venting. The Morphines and the anti-seizure works well for me - you should give it a shot. It won't break the bank while you give it a try. I've had RSD for 7 years.

I'm sorry to hear that you are in a flare at the moment! I really hope you are feeling better and you are in my thoughts!

Here's a list of the meds I have been on (I may have missed some though due to short term memory loss which i'm sure you'll all understand!). I must mention that I am NOT on any meds at the moment as none of them really helped that much but please keep in mind that what works for one person, might not work for another!

Gabapentin - This didn't help and made me extremely fatigued.

Lyrica - I was put on this after the Gabapentin didn't work as it's the newer version. It didnt help me at all and I put on a lot of weight (around 30lbs) so came off it. I had nasty withdrawal symptoms whilst coming off it including mood swings, nausea, panic attacks etc.

Tramadol - Was put on this as it's supposed to help with neuropathic pain but it didn't help me and made me really drowsey.

Amitriptyline - I was put on this to try and help me sleep and ease some of the pain but it didn't help and I suffered from an awful side effect of blurred vision which resulted in a fall and a spread of the RSD so had to come off it immediately.

Baclofen - I was put on this to help with the Dystonia that I have as a complication of the RSD but it didn't help.

Morphine - I was put on a morphine drip whilst in hospital for an ingrown toenail removal but it didn't help and made me really nauseated.

Kenadrin - Was put on this when I developed severe myocolonic spasms but it didn't help and caused my pupils to dilate again.

Diazepam - Was put on this to try and stem the myocolonic spasms but it didn't help yet again.

Ketamine - This is the only med that helps for me. It takes my pain away from about an 8 and half to a 6. My Dr doesn't like me taking it too much though as he fears it could affect my hormones etc because of my age.

My lawyer had me get set up with a company call INJURED WORKERS PHARMACEY they gave all my med's while i was in court so i did not have to worry about getting the drugs also they worked with the attorney so the insurance company would pay check them out, they are great i have used them since 05 and still using them i never worry about the drug bills they take care of it hope this helps
