HI Ali,

I just took a look at your blog. Very nice. My name is Sue. I have not been on in awhile. I lost intrest in alot of things. I think I'll feel better when all the snow is gone here. Its hard to get out. I read that your father says things like get over it or your faking. My family does the same thing to me. My husband does it alot and he won't go to the docs either. My leg is rotated too and I have to wear a brace to walk. But one night out of the blue my husband started to talk about the RSD. He told me that he was afraid of what was happening to me and just tried to shut it out. I thought he didn't care but in fact he is so scared of what will happen to me next that he couldn't deal. It really hurt me that he would not talk about it. I've had RSD SINCE 1999 after a hip replacement. Mabey your dad is just so worried about you that he is scared too. I've read alot of your posts and you are so smart and kind. Iam sorry you are going through this. Try to give your Dad time. He might come around.

Take care
Sue K

Hi Sue and Ali,
Ali, I also looked at your blog and I just want you to know that you are just as beautiful on the outside as you are on the inside. It was nice to see you smiling and having a good time..just like a teenager should.

Sue, It is nice to meet you. I live in Connecticut so I know what you mean about the snow. I"m glad your husband is coming around. Men express emotions in different ways than we do. It's hard to understand at times. My husband has been great. He was diagnosed with cancer shortly after I was diagnosed with RSD so we help each other. I wear a leg brace as well . It has been a lifesaver....without it I have to use a wheelchair. How is yours working for you.? I recently learned there are different types of braces so later this year I'm going to meet with an orthodic specialist to see if there is one that might give me a little more mobility.Hope you can post more often. There are alot of nice people here...Jeannie

Thank you Sue for your kind words - I appreciate them!

I'm SO glad to hear that your husband is finally starting to understand RSD as I know how hard it can be when no-one understands what we are going through.

I honestly don't know what the problem with my dad is!! He can be really verbally abusive to my mum and will always say nasty names to put her down and make her feel horrible. If we tell him to stop being so nasty, he will just say that he is doing nothing wrong and that it is our fault!! He has only been to the hospital about 3 times in the past 2 years that I have had RSD and it really upsets me at times. I wish he would go but for some reason, he wont and is always making excuses up as to why he can't go such as, he's got to work, he's tired etc etc!!

Hopefully one day he will start to understand what I am going through and stop with all of the nasty verbal abuse that he says to my mum as I know it really upsets her, and me.

Thanks again for taking the time to post this and care!

Used To Be - Thank you for your kind words about my pictures - it means a lot. I am realyl paying for the trip now - I have been in bed since Monday with what I am guessing is the flu as I can't stop coughing and sneezing and everything looks really dizzy. My RSD pain has gone up a lot also which I am guessing is from the cabin pressure in the plane and also the extra walking that I had to do. I'm hoping that I will feel better tomorrow as I have to go to school. Thanks again!
