my dr. just put me on Lyrica 75 mg 2x a day. He has taken me of Topomax. He said with no weight loss and no major improvement in pain anymore that he wanted me off of it because it can ruin the liver. Some how it doesn't sound as if Lyrica is any better. Then he has taken me off percs and put me on Opana which is supose to be something like 2-3 times stronger the morphine. the warnings for it are pretty scary. I'm still going to start it tonight. If you don't hear from me for a couple of days you will know it didn't (or maybe did) work.. Just kidding. I'm not that worried...only about the Lycria now.

I have CRPS for almost 14 years, and last year I was put on Lyrica as well. I have been taking Neurontin since late 2004. Lyrica is newer and might work better. I took one pill after a meal, developed a serious migraine and had a sensation in my stomach as if I hadn't eaten for days! So no, I went back to Neurontin straight away (I suffer from migraines as well, and if Lyrica is a trigger then no). Neurontin works for me, and I am happy with it (so why change?) though I know nothing can take away the pain fully. I am on Buprenorphine pain patches as well and have oral sublingual Buprenorphine as well for breakthrough pain. BTW, I have RSD in both legs (fully) and since last year it spontaneously spread to both arms/hands.

I hope the Lyrica works for you. We're all different.

Yes i have been a lyrica since it first came out and it worked wonders on me. It was a lot better than neurontine. Helped with the burning 100 times more. I take 300 mg 2x a day

I take a low dose of Lyrica in combination with other meds. With the exception of some initial lethargy I have had no bad reactions. It has also seemed to be weight neutral for me. It has also given me some relief from the neuropathic pain. It's worth a try.

Lyrica is the same class of drug as Neurontin. It is an anti-seizure medication that works on neuropathic pain. Quite frankly, Neurontin did nothing for me.

Hope this works well for you.
