Also,PM doc added a new med in my already bountiful cocktail glass:

OPANA ER 10 mg. tablets taken twice a day..along with my other meds!
In Morphine family. I will see him again in 4 weeks, at which time he will bump up the mg. on the OPANA ER ( Oxymorphone;Time released).

Also, all my other meds will be scripted for 3 months and I will most likely be MMI. My maintenance schedule is to see him every 3 months..indefinitely.

I feel nausea and drowsy at the moment...at the same time

Are/Have any of you taking/taken Opana ER? If yes..what is your opinion on this pain med?

Talk to you all later.

Opana ER has made a huge difference in my life;I am in AZ visiting my sis and her family, currently...and I did NOT have any difficulties with the 2 day trip( we took lots of breaks). My sis told me what a difference 2 months has made since she last saw me when she came to Oklahoma to visit me. I explained to her that the difference in me was the new pain med. I can honestly say that there are moments that I feel pain -free; however, the duration of one Opana ER is 12 hrs..and my body does swifty go into a pain spiral up if I don't take the Opana ER on the dot...12 hrs. later.

Please remember, Opana ER was added to my other cocktail of meds.
hugs,
Dew

Drew,

I'm so happy to hear that you made the trip so well. Opana er is still working so well for me. I see my dr. tomorrow and I think he's going to up to to 40mg. I figure that 10 mg worked, 20 worked much better, I'm hoping that 40 will do the trick and if it works like the other increases, after I spend a couple of days sound asleep, I should almost be totally pain free. We are having that ugly weather that you all had a few days ago. rain, damp, etc. and I haven't had any pain. I love it.

Post when you can

Hugs
Mary

That's great to hear! You got there in one piece and your sister noticing the difference is amazing and has to mean something!!! I'd feel so happy!!!

I am SO glad Opana is working for you, and that you found something that helps with the pain.

Have a great time with your sister. She must be so happy to see you right now!

Default Opana er

Hi Dew,

I've taken Opana er 40 mgs. for about a year and it did the job for the amount of time I took it! As you have probably heard nothing we take will take all the pain away! The Manufacturer of Opana er wanted to make a pill comparable to Oxycontin, so they could have a corner of the market. Oxymorphone is the ingredient in Opana er, and on paper it is supposed to be stronger than Oxycodone, and Morphine. I've taken all three and I'll stick with Oxycodone, or Oxycontin. Opana er has a slower release system of the drug than the other 2, but it's not bad for chronic pain. They also make opana 5, and 10 mgs. for breakthrough pain, which I've not taken.

Good Luck,

jmac51
