here is a post i posted to someone else maybe this will help expalin the sweating thing and possible other problmes ...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been told that the hypertension oh high blood pressure and sweating is contributed to the RSD... High blood pressure and pluse because or pain... The more pain you are you will realize the higher those things become... The sweating is a part of RSD... I read a book that said RSD affects a certian system called the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems whish are responsable for sweat, blood pressure and heart rate and sleep... I can not remember what book it was from but i know that it affects those systems you can read more about it... at the website below ... Here its the not the best explaination but the only one i can find until i find it in my book... Our sympathetic systems are always functions in a person with RSD... I hope this helps and isnt to confussing... I will find the book and repost more information... I know how frustrating it is to sweat and have high blood pressure and to try and deal with all of those things...Hope this informations helps...

Our Nervous System
There are two components to our nervous system: The Sympathetic and the Parasympathetic. Both components are in operation simultaneously, and they balance each other. When we experience stress, our Sympathetic system becomes dominate and causes our heart to beat faster to get more blood flow, our breathing rate to increase to get more oxygen, our sweat glands to function to cool us off, adrenal glands becomes active, etc. After the stress has passed, our Sympathetic system reduces its effect, and our Parasympathetic system becomes dominate and helps us recover. Our heart rate slows, breathing goes down, we stop sweating, etc. Our Sympathetic and Parasympathetic systems have opposite effects on our bodies: one to handle stress and the other to recover from the stress.

A person also mentions it on this health board..

Painfree hugs and hope things get better

I used to have "hot" RSD but now I am cold most of the time. I feel like I have ice running in the veins of my legs. I can't wait for it to get warm. Looks like that might not happen until about July this year, though. What a crappy spring...southern NE is pretty awful this time of year. I miss Philly, where I grew up, they get spring at least 2 -3 weeks sooner than us.

Forecast calls for sunshine on SUNDAY. It is Thursday. yuck

Take care everyone. Sandy

Heart Cold Water Wash Cloth..will Travel:)

When I 1st started Cymbalta, I felt nauseous and did sweat alot. That went away within a week or so.

RSD is the main culprit for sweating. I carry a cold wet soft washcloth with me everywhere..in stores..to bed, etc. It really does no good to put makeup on..as I wipe it off when I feel sweaty

I sweat in the coldest areas,too..like inside with a/c blasting. The washcloth comforts me. I have to use at least 2 cloths per day, as the sweaty cloth does smell after awhile, even when I wash it out several times per day. I think it is the toxins sweating out of my body from all the meds I take to calm this culprit.

It is definitely the CRPS/RSD as this and the fact that my feet were only about 70 degrees were the only two symptoms I could point to besides pain when all this started.

Equally the onset of sudden sweating for no apparent reason become one of the few ways that I could predict that my pain levels were going to shoot up in the next couple of hours.

If the sweating was profuse (literally soaked shirt, wringing wet hair and this was often when I was wearing a suit!) it usually meant I was headed for a few days in the fetal position, but this was early in my disease and before I found better docs.

For me this started to change early last year. Now I have fewer of these random sweating episodes for no apparent reason and they are not as severe, but if I get too hot/heated and start sweating I cannot stop it without ice or cold water.

This really sucks because I have always loved summer and grew up in Oklahoma and now live in Texas so it is warm most of the year.

I have learned a trick that helps me however and that is that the key to turning off my sweat button is too cool off the back of my neck and under my ears.

If I am in a restaurant/bar type place I pack ice in napkins and wrap it around my neck. And to help me out when that isn't possible I try to bring one of those cold pack things that you crush and shake up.

I am hoping this year won't be as bad as last because it took the fun out of a lot of events.
