Default update

I had another hard day and slept through most of the day just to get away from it now I find I can't sleep. I take ms cotin er 3x a day....it worked well until my back started hurting and they found something abnormal on my bonescan in that area. I get an mri tomorrow...they have ruled out infection now it is just wait and see. The problem is using my arms (where) my rsd is to get from place to place, I crawled into bed yesterday. I want to thank you all for your care and support it was enough to keep from going absolutely crazy. My pain doc told me to take my breakthrough meds (vicodin up to 4 a day) problem is I don't have any he didn't write it for me my primary did and he has since cut me off until my pain doc will manage it all...I see him on thrs. I might have to wait until then to get it worked out. We will see.
thank you again all!!!
Jennelle

I can't live without icepacks myself. I know ice isn't supposed to be good with RSD....but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Can you add ibuprofen to your mix to help with inflammation ?

Can you stay on bedrest ?

Heart

I use a heating pad.. a tens unit..and most of all my meds. Make sure you are taking meds in a timely manner so that meds are in your system round the clock.

I am sorry that you are having these severe pain issues..we have all been there..take a deep breath, and try to relax. The more tense you are, the more stress u feel, and the more the intense the pain feels. There is no simple answer. Contact with your PM is the best action that can be taken at these moments.

Hi sending thoughts. I am not good on this front wither but I also heard how key it is to take meds before the pain gets to an out of control state or they don't work as well. Please hang in there and I hope you come up with a better plan as it seems your treatment people are on different pages with meds etc

Hi Jenelle,

Tomorrow will be here before you know it. Try to find something to do that will keep your mind off of your pain for little bits of time - reading, the computer, a hot cup of tea, a phone call with a friend, etc. Do you have some meds to get you through the night? If you try NOT to sleep too much during the day it could help you to get a better night's sleep. Other things people have mentioned here are the full body pillows, the cervical pillows, heating pads, TENS units, melatonin, etc. And make a REALLY good list for your doctor of all your symptoms and the meds that you've taken so far, etc so that if you're tired you don't forget anything. Tylenol PM or one of the other over the counter meds might be worth a shot, if you're really tired that might be all it takes to knock you out (can't hurt, right?).

So sorry you are going through this. Hope it helps you to know that many of us are thinking of you ....

Sandy

Hope all goes well tomorrow with the MRI. Let us know what happens!

Praying you will get through the rest of the day and the night. Maybe tomorrow you'll have more answers.
