Richard,

I do not know the cause, but I have something similar. My left leg - the one most afflicted - looks like I spent lots of time polishing it. Reminds me of a dance floor.

Curious. Is this your RSD area?

Mike

My wife lost her hair on the bottoms of her legs and arms and they are shiny. Yes this is her RSD area.

Default Hi Richard,

My legs shine like I have used polish on them too. So does my hands. I notice that often.

I am guessing it's another part of the RSD. My hair don't grow on my legs either, nor my arms.

My leg is also shiny (waxy) and my hair does not grow but in one spot on my leg. Doc said it is from the RSD. I think mine is from the lack of blood flow but not sure.

Hi Richard,

I also get the shiny skin, especially on my RSD limbs (both arms and left leg). It sometimes looks as though my skin is really grey or matallic as it is so discoloured.

My PM Doctor mentioned it once and said that it is often caused from poor blood circulation and is similar to the colour changes that we get.

I really hate it when my skin goes like that, especially in my hands as it looks so strange and I can't 'hide' it!

Sorry that you are having to deal with this also - just know that you aren't alone and that we understand what you are going through!

Trophic changes of the skin due to alteration of normal sympathetic activity

I have the shiny skin on my right leg, and now on my left leg.Right knee has 2 surgeries. Good thing is I don't have to shave my legs; bad thing is my toe nails are starting to split

It is OK..shiny or not..I am still ME!
