It’s about my Mom, she gets a hot irritating sensation through out her body
and this happens in breaks (some 2 hours), not in a continuous
stretch. I took her to a Hospital, took all the necessary tests but the doctor said everything is clean.

Would like to know the cure for this disease.

I am sorry that your Mom is having this issue. There could be many reasons that your Mom is having the heat surges. I am glad she went for a work up with a doctor.

Please read/look over, the top section of the RSD/CRPS information posts/blogs. It may give you an insight to what RSD/CRPS is, and how it manifests and progresses.

I am not a doctor, and would not presume to diagnose the culprit that has entered your Mom's life(health).

I am sorry that your Mom, you, and your family have no answers since the workup that was completed on your Mom.

Hi Vijay and welcome to NeuroTalk. Like Dew said this portion of NeuroTalk is about RSD or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. It's a wonderful support group for ones with this neurological disorder friends and family.
A hot burning sensation is a sympton of RSD or another disorder. What kind of Dr. did you take your Mom to? RSD is a complex disorder with various symptoms that are similar to us all, but varies as well to individuals. We are on similiar medications, but also people react differently to meds, so there may be variance of meds.
Many get this disorder after an injury at work or any kind of injury or accident. After surgery ( that is my case) or even following a stroke or heart attack. In some cases there is no known cause. There is no cure for RSD, but it can go into remission- I did twice and then had a water skiing accident. and now have RSD full body-which means feet, legs, hands, arms , body neck etc.
It was four years before I was diagnosed/ was misdiagnosed actually. I eventually flew across the country to a well know sports injury group of orthopedic drs. saw the hand dr. and he diagnosed me in 1 minute sent me to hospital for nuclear med tests on hand. confirmed. started physical therapy. returned to Arizona and saw a nuerologist who did more testing and confirmed. saw a orthopedic hand surgeon who saw me and confirmed and started physical therapy. My hand frozen frozen solid, very sensitive to touch and burning. The therapy because of being delayed, only went so far, got partial use of 4 fingers, it's paralyzed like a claw/
Neurologists and Orthopedic Drs in my opinion AND Pain Management Centers are the most likely to recognize RSD and test correctly. RSD is important to get diagnosed correctly as soon as possible for treatment and remission.
Don't stop without a diagnosis and still having symptoms,no matter what it turns out to be. Did your Mom fall or twist and ankle, foot or hand? Am curious why you thought it might possibly be RSD? Many people have never heard of it, including most of us that have it. I do hope you find some answers and your Mom gets relief. Take care, loretta

I'm sorry to hear that your mum suffers from RSD!! I have RSD in my left leg and both arms and it is an awful condition! I developed it when I was 12 years old after an ankle sprain and am now 14.

I also get the hot irritating sensation that you mentioned and it is extremely annoying sometimes!!! Sometimes it tends to hurt a lot whilst other times, it is itchy and as though I can't sit still for short periods of times and am always fidgiting. I read somewhere that it can be a common symptom of RSD.

I haven't found anything that helps with the hot sensation so far, sorry.

What sort of doctor does your mum see??? It is extremely important that she goes to see either a Pain Management Doctor or Neurologist as they are usually the best doctors to treat RSD.

Does your mum have any Physical Therapy? It's really important that she keeps moving - even though it hurts a LOT!! RSD is a 'use it or lose it' condition. Your mum could do some gentle exercises at home should she wish but it's always best to see a trained PT who specialises in dealing with RSD and other similar disorders.

Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for RSD. The condition CAN be managed though by the use of medications, PT, nerve bocks, pain pumps etc etc.

Thanks for your suggesstion, my mom didnt have any surgeries or accidents.
She has been complaining about this problem for nearly 2-3 months. She was admitted in a hospital for a week and took various tests and medication. i wasn’t sure whether she was approached by a Neurologist during her stay in the hospital as its a special case. The tests didn’t show up anything and we had to check her out of the Hospital due to mounting medical expenses. Then at last i decided to Google it. i Google about this burning sensation and landed in Neuro talk

Welcome to the NT family. I hope that you appointment for your mother will go well and that you will get some answers. As many of us can attest, at least having an answer to what the problem is is better than going on and not having a name for the pain that you're having.
I was diagnosed three days after a knee surgery-all are shocked as usually it takes much longer for symptoms to develop, but 3 of 4 objective signs can't be wrong.
I wanted to suggest to you that during your mother's period of hospitalization, there could still be opportunities for RSD to show itself. There are many here who developed this disease after needle sticks, blood draws, etc, which I am sure were part of her stay.

Full body burning sensations may be caused by Peripheral Neuropathy.

Low B12, some viral illnesses, and prediabetes and actual diabetes can cause this. We have several people on that board with similar symptoms.
