Heart

I am sorry to hear that carrie and mary are feeling bad because of the high temps. I stay inside, in the a/c. It is the rain and the cold weather that really hurts me. I hope you both get relief soon

I am sorry. My pain goes way up like to an insane amount with the cold. I hate how one has to think and worry about so many outside things from weather,to people, getting sick etc with rsd and making it flare up. I hope you feel better

Default Hi Mary,

I hate the summers now too. Have for a few years. I hurt more in the summer then the winter. I can't get out and take walks due to the heat. I don't in the winter for fear of falling so the walks have gone completely. I do have a treadmill but have trouble using it as much as I'd like.

Our weather has still been cool. Lots of rain and some humidity. Not as much as Carrie has to contend with back her way. Being from Ky. I know how high the humidity gets down her way. As soon as it starts hitting 100, I will be screaming in pain. I will stay in a lot this summer.

As far as how my arm looks. It looks normal. My fingers are very thin. They have shrunk in size since getting the RSD. My hand does change color and stays cold at times. My kids got me a family ring for Christmas and was surprised that a size 7 is too big. I use to wear an 8.

It has been rainy and damp, but today is hot and humid. It's only June. I'll die during the next 3 months...I'd like to go visit my MIL, but as she is 87, she tends to keep it too warm for me. She puts the a/c to 80, and wears a sweater. I can't do that. Last time I went up, I took a big fan for the bedroom so maybe I could get some sleep. It helped a little. She lives on Long Island, so we opened the window, and I was able to get a little sleep. When she stayed with me when I had the surgery this past Oct/Nov, I kept my bedroom door closed, and I had the window next to the bed open. She kept putting up the heat and it was killing me. I know she was miserable. Oh well, maybe I'll pass this year. I've got to bring in the horses, then I'm jumping into the shower to cool off.

Hugs
Mary

This is a good thread!

Here I am all sunburned up from enjoying the beautiful weather we are having in Cali, but really dreading summer.

RSD has made almost all conditions unbearable for me. When its cold I have deep aching, and a weird cold burn sensation.

In the summer I get this weird feeling like my body cannot adjust to the temperature. It is like a panic or anxiety attack, but no reason for my body to act like that because im calm as can be. The hotter it gets the more weird I feel, almost to the point of passing out.

Im not sure how im going to handle this summer. Been cruising to the coast where the temps are more stable thinking that might be the answer. Not bone chilling cold, or blazing hot
