I have it, injury to my ankle. I was just wondering if anyone else got it after a trauma....I'd love to hear your stories. I'm losing my hope in getting better.

hi i was in a car accident when i was 16 and have full body rsd for 11yrs now. there is hope dont give up.. it took me along time to find a doctor and get the right treatments .. where do you live.. have you been able to get any treatment at all

RSD is usually caused by some time of injury big or small. There are a few cases where there was no cause, and also some people got crps from getting blood drawn or having an IV put in.

I got rsd after I broke my kneecap at work in 2003. I'm sorry you have rsd too, but you are not alone. The are some great people on this board. Feel free to ask any questions you have. We are the "experts" on rsd. Who knows better than we do what it's all about. We don't have all the answers but we can share our experiences with each other.

I developed RSD after an injury to my ankle when I was 12 years old. I fell down some stairs and sprained my ankle and my RSD started after that. It took 4 and a half months for me to get diagnosed and it has since spread to both my arms after further injuries (both falls).

I've heard that 90% (if not more) of RSD sufferers develop RSD after either an injury or surgery. It is very uncommon for RSD to start spontaniously, though isn't impossible.

I'm sorry to hear that you have RSD! You will find many great and caring people here who i'm sure will try and help you if they can so please don't be afraid to ask any questions you have!!

I don't know what part of OH you live in. There is a support group that meets the first Thursday of the month in Oxford OH. There are several phone support groups in Northern OH.

I have full body RSD (9 years). I remember that hopless feeling in the beginning. I have a great group of doctors who all understand RSD. Once you get a treatment plan that works for you it makes a world of difference.

I got RSD after a torn ligament in my hand this past Dec. I'm giving up hope also. It's wc, it's spreading up my arm in my shoulder and the pm Dr isn't calling me back.This is pure H***.

I have CRPS II left leg after a fall at work that tore up my knee. I have had three surgeries and what started out in lower leg and foot has now spread up to my entire leg and hip. I was diagnosed too late so nothing seems to be helping at this point. My PM is going to try a iffy procedure so we will have to see. Meds are not working so they are going to mess around with that too (just lovely)!!

I am trying hard not to lose hope but it sure is hard to keep a postive outlook. Get with a good PM doc and if you can get support find it!

i was diagnosed after a ladder fell and hit me on my ankle causing all sorts of injuries to tendons and bone..it healed after surgery to graft the tendon but RSD showed up. I have had 2 lumbar injections with no relief i am scheduled to have another in just 2 weeks.

I hope to learn alot here, seems like people know their RSD.

i got rsd after a fractured elbow, then i had a SCS implanted and it spread up to where the incision was... later broke my foot and it went there...
