Default very very sad

As you all know, I have 3 horses, one of which was very very old. somewhere between 35-38 or so. Well, we let him out of the stall about 4 when the temp dropped a bit, and went out to dinner. when we got home we went to bring everyone in to eat and Ernie didn't come in. I found him gone, under some trees. I know I gave him a good,,,no....great life, but I still have a hole in my heart. This just happened a couple of hrs ago. It's bad enough that I lost my two oldest dogs a few months ago, both within a week of each other, but now one of my big boys. I know I would never give up one minute of this pain if it meant that I would have to give up one minute of the joy he brought to me. I just wish that I could have said goodbye to him while he was still here. He will be buried tomorrow morning, but I will not go out to see him. I just can't do that. My DH always has to do the rotten part. Just wanted to share. And to top it off, my pain level has been sky high.

Hugs
Mary

I'm sorry for your loss, Mary.

I was just remembering about the old horse my Mother had when she was a girl. Old Dan came up close to the house and looked in the window at the family the evening he died. Guess he was saying "Goodbye" to them.

Its sure hard to lose our 4-legged friends.

Mary, i know how tangible the pain is. We all do.

Just today, I got a facebook notice, that a friend of mine's wife (from the Outlaws band),
had wont a blue medal for her horse.

Oh my.
I will pray for your comfort!

Dear LostMary,
I understand the whole in your heart and the longing to have been with Ernie under the tree when he passed...I , too love animals with all my heart and soul..
The only consolaton I was ever able to have when my beloved critters passed away was that I envisioned them finally at the 'rainbow bridge' where they will happily and freely be forever, prancing, dancing, barking, tails wagging, purring, everything our beloved animals friends love to do...
I know how you are feeling and I am sending you my empathy.
Please take care of yourself..

Hi Mary,
My heart goes out to you. The pain of losing our special pets is so real. Pets bring so much joy and comfort to our lives. I agree with you on not giving up the joy when we have to say goodbye. Please know you are in our thoughts and please take care of yourself. Thank you for sharing your pain with us. We care, loretta
