Default Welcome

Shame we have to meet in such circumstances, but Alison (Ali12) is right. This forum is a great place for info and support, no better place around. I've had RSD since 2003 and until recently it stayed only in my left knee with some spikes of movement when it was overused, but it always returned to the same place. Lately it has been bothering my foot some, but I am only slightly concerned right now. I hope (and pray) that it will leave my foot alone and go back to my knee. Seems from what I've read that the spread is normally something that occurs in the first year, although, like anything in life, there are exceptions. I gotta say, it seems that as long as you don't just rest and sit around that it is less likely to spread and/or get worse. My saving grace, I believe, is the fact that I'm poor and HAD to work to pay child support and all the other bills of life. I just popped pain killers and went to work, and although it hurt like the deal, it didn't spread or get worse. Later, Smoke

Default True

True! What great encouragement and verses. God's grace is sufficient and the Joy of the Lord is my strenth. I am thankful for the opportunities to be a witness and testimony during this, but it is still a struggle. Mine was caused by a fall which broke my elbow. Not sure what level I have, just know I have had swelling, discoloration, pain, etc. The worst is over, but still have intermittent pain, that I am sure all can understand.

Thanks again and I am praying. Will pray for you, as well as the others. Take care of yourself. Suz

Hi Bobber,
It's hard to comprehend that a small injury/surgery can grow into such an overwhelming condition...from what I understand, you can even develop RSD from an insect sting or bite......

Thanks for sharing all the details of your heel surgery and the different test you had afterward..I, too, in one of my previous posts, wrote how/sad/angry I was at wasted time, too....in the diagnosis..

I think you had mentioned you are doing pool therapy and how helpful it is for you....as soon as it quiets down at work I'm going to leave an hour early on Friday to get back into the warm therapy pool (93 degrees).. It's not open on week-ends and its the only warm therapy pool around...

Even though it flares up the nerve pain for a couple of days afterward, it really helped in controlling the swelling...plus, it made me feel so relaxed and put me in a positive state of mind...
Bobber, it is so kind of you to share your phone number for all of us..it is reassuring to know your help and understanding is out there for us all!!!!
Your kindness is a blessing..
Always,
Hope4thebest

hopefor the best
Thats why God has us here,,i wasnt exaggerating about the aqua jogging,,,i put on a couple floatys and jog in place for up to an hr,,sometimes it creates pain at first,,but within 3-5 days my legs arent red anymore,,i have flareups for the first week, but when i got home id take a xanax ,,,but the body soon adjusts to it and no xanx is needed at times,,,,,remember rsd first choice of recovery is theropy,,,my legs used to be blood red with swelling and purple mottling ,but no more,,,my ankles,,,my feet are white again and so are my legs,,,i do get some mild pinkish flares,,but not like what it was like before God blesssed me by healing me and telling me to get into the pool,,ignore the 1st couple of days, let the body get used to it,,try to go at least 3-4 times a week,,,,,,,,,,if God is doing it for me he will do it for everyone,,,,,,he is not a respector of any man,,,,,,,,holller at me if and when you want,,,,,trust in the lord,,,proverbs 3:5-6

Default Good to know

Good info to have. I find myself sitting around at home on the weekends cause I hurt and don't want to get up and around. I have to cause I have a family to feed and kids to taxi around. Ha I am thankful that my hubby has a good job and allows me to stay home. I have been concerned about the spreading 'cause I am having mirror pain in the other hand and my rt hip gives out on me sometimes when I walk. The pain moves around from my hips to the knees, calves, feet, etc. It doesn't stay in the same place, which is my biggest concern. Isn't that one of the symptoms? I guess I could hope I am just getting old. Ha! That's a switch, huh? Tee hee! Anywho, thanks for your encouragement. Suz
