Default very very sad

As you all know, I have 3 horses, one of which was very very old. somewhere between 35-38 or so. Well, we let him out of the stall about 4 when the temp dropped a bit, and went out to dinner. when we got home we went to bring everyone in to eat and Ernie didn't come in. I found him gone, under some trees. I know I gave him a good,,,no....great life, but I still have a hole in my heart. This just happened a couple of hrs ago. It's bad enough that I lost my two oldest dogs a few months ago, both within a week of each other, but now one of my big boys. I know I would never give up one minute of this pain if it meant that I would have to give up one minute of the joy he brought to me. I just wish that I could have said goodbye to him while he was still here. He will be buried tomorrow morning, but I will not go out to see him. I just can't do that. My DH always has to do the rotten part. Just wanted to share. And to top it off, my pain level has been sky high.

Hugs
Mary
