Hi,
I have had atypical TN for 7 years. I have gone through 2 MVD surgeries that were not successful as well as a balloon rhizotomy and radiation therapy twice. I have been on all the medications. Tegretol and nortriptyline seem to help a little. I have seen 24 doctors and spent so much of my time and money fighting this. Last year I was at the end of my rope. I felt I had to finally DO something with my pain.

This disease so often keeps us away from others and isolates us and our emotions. Don't let it! I pray you never give up. This fight is worth it and in the process this disease can be something you are thankful for...I know that sounds crazy but I am thankful I have gone through this. It helps me be compassionate to others and also has strengthened my faith.

Dear poobie, I have very severe pain for many years & i understand what you are saying. That despite all the bad the pain has brought to you that all things work together for good that love God & are called according to His purpose, & that you are grateful for the knowlege & compassion that has come as good fruit from hurting. Me, too. I will start praying for you.

I try to believe I have a purpose but I can barely get out of the house anymore because im so dizzy and the muscle spasns are getting much worse. I would like to think God stil has a purpose for me but I have lost all my friends and family doen't call anymore. I try not to hate that doctor. oh well...

Dear marknell, Of course there is a purpose for you! Read Romans 8:28 - 30 for the bible's word on the subject but im broken in body & i pray for people all the time & i think thats an important purpose even though the phrase "i couldnt do anything but pray" like thats a small thing bc i dont believe it is asking God to use His power to heal & help others, loved ones, for Gods will to be done. Im so sorry that you are lonely due to the consequences of pain, i stay in my house all the time too. I understand because i have a severe lumbar spine condition caused 100% by medical procedures but which one i will never know bc ive had so many! Do you mind telling me what happened with what med? God loves you & knows the truth, the pain & circumstances & in the bible He calls you his friend! If by chance you dont have a bible & want to know romans verse let me know, i will type it for you.
