I'm glad your health issues gave you the time you needed to spend with your grandmother. Continued prayers for both of you. |

I know how you feel about your Grandma. I was very close to my Grandmother, and my children were very close to my Mother. A Grandmother is a blessing, and we Grandparents see our Grand children as our blessings. I can see you are a blessing to her. Tell her Jesus loves her and cares and that she is in His hands. I will pray for her.

Hi all! Thank you for your prayers. They are so truly appreciated by my whole family. We are still waiting. After several biopsys we are now taink Grama to an oncologist. They have already decided that chemo and radiation are not options and I guess after all test results are in the oncologist will discuss what if any options are left for Grama. He may very well send her home to live her life out. She is tired all of the time and does not want to talk of the cancer. I will keep you posted as soon as we know more. Thanks everyone...God Bless you all! Love Dorrie

Father in heaven, most high and loving God, I come to you now for this dear grandmother. Lord, you know what is best for her, help her to have the strength to follow You. Give the family the understanding and peace they need in these trying hours. I ask in Christ's name. Amen.

Thanks for the update Dorrie
Her desire for quality over quantity (time) is understandable. It sure would be nice if the doc could give her something easy/soft on the system that could prolong her life. If not, I hope the progression of the disease is slow and painless. |

Does your Grandma live close to you? This would be a wonderful time to just be together. Of course she is sad and quiet...I'll bet you are also. If you can spend some extra time with her, just letting her know how much you care...that would be wonderful. You sound like such a wonderful granddaughter, how blessed she has been to have you in her life. Just know that you are loved by many, and those "many" will be praying for peace and love for your grandmother and yourself. I'm here if you need me. Grandma Suze |

Dorrie, my heart goes out to you and your family. Cancer at any age is a difficult one to deal with. Often times, when a person is elderly and they get the diagnosis, they simply give up. I pray that this is not the case with your Gramma. It sounds as if she is realizing though that she might as well think of giving the family some cherished items (such as that precious Bible you were mentioning).
I know personally how you are feeling with that pain in the pit of your heart that just will not go away. My 27 yr old son was diagnosed with testicular cancer last month. He has had the surgery to remove the tumor, but now we're waiting for oncologist as well. The chemo in itself can be hard on the body, I understand where the dr. is coming from saying that grandma couldn't take it. Can they maybe just remove the lump itself so that perhaps it doesn't continue to grow so rapidly? Please keep us posted dear...there's a thread in this same Sanc for Spiritual Support about my son as well. He too has said several times "wow, it's so wonderful to know that these friends of my mom's are prayin for me".
