I felt God in the sunshine and light breeze as it wisped across my face. The sky is blue and the hummies are still at the feeder. Is it really Fall? I can't tell, as it feels like Spring today.

Yes, just gorgeous here today too. No, actually this year the first day of Fall is the 22nd, in 2 days. We are still in Summer, last few days thereof.

watching ducks on the lake ... paddling making wakes on their own - the lake is so calm!

It's alright with God to be still and just BE.

I love Mother Teresa. She was an incredibly amazing woman who did wonderful things. So, I remembered this quote from Mother Teresa that is right along the same lines as Wiix's post.

"Silence will teach us a lot. It will teach us to speak with Christ and to speak joyfully to our brothers and sisters." - Mother Teresa

Yesterday afternoon I spent a few hours with a dying salmon. This has happened before. The fish will swim into my little shallow cove and for the last few hours of it's life I watch it's stuggle.

I can't just sit on the shore and watch it. I went out to where it was and stood beside it. It would go belly up, it's mouth out of the water and it would gasp for air. I wrapped my arms around this big fish, almost 3 feet long, and righted it so it could breathe.

This went on for at least an hour, maybe two. I stroked it's skin and talked to it. I could tell it was a VERY pregnant female. Her belly was packed with eggs.

When her struggle was over and I knew she was gone I brought her up onto the sand.

I felt like I had to do what I did next.

I sliced her open and removed the two egg sacks and took them out into the water, opened them up and spread the eggs in the water. I am hoping that some of them hatch.

When you see the number of eggs she didn't have time to lay, you marvel at the whole thing. Life and death so close together. Thinking about this now I have a lump in my throat.
