Sorry to hear that about your Mom, Sandy. Hopefully, your'e Sis and brothers can get through to her OR take her car keys. It's scary, that's for sure.

Keep us posted ok, and sending prayers to you all.

Sandy,

I'm so sorry your Mom is having problems and won't call the doctor. I hope she will listen to her children and realize how concerned you all are for her.

I'm praying for your Mom and all of your family BFF!

Well she went to work against our wishes. She told my sister when she got there that her eyes were hurting again, yet she still went into work. My sister called a co-worker of mom's and asked her to keep an eye out on mom. At least she will be around people tonight if something happens. Another good thing is they will force her to the ER if she passes out or becomes ill. It's their policy.

Keep praying for her please. I am Ok with her saying she's had enough with doctors and such. I respect her wishes on that although it rips me apart. However, I am not OK with her driving and putting herself or others in danger. My sister is calling the neuro tomorrow to see where to go from here.

Sandy, adding your mom and your family to my prayer list. Hopefully, the neuro can give you some advice or direction when you call tomorrow. She sounds like a determined person, I just hope she does OK at work, and makes it home safely. Keep us posted, and we'll keep you covered with prayer.

I just spoke with Sandy on the phone and she wanted me to update everyone about her Mother. She is trying to call all of her family and is tied up on the phone.

Her Mother went to work and had an episode. She became disoriented and has no memory. Her work called Sandy's sister and she is taking their Mother to the ER right now.

They do not know anything yet. Sandy is waiting to hear from her sister when they get to the ER to hear what the doctor's say and what tests they will perform. Sandy is going to try to update her Mother's condition but if she can't, I will let everyone know when I hear from her.

We need to pray extra hard now. Sandy is pretty shaken by this but doing well all things considered.

I'll keep your Mom in my prayers Sandy. It's so difficult knowing what to do when they're ill. I remember about a year before my Mom was DX'd with Alzheimer's. The phone rang about 3am and it was my Mom. When I answered she asked when I was going to pick her up, she'd been waiting in the lobby of her building with her coat on for awhile.

I said Mom are you ok? There was a brief silence and she said yes, why? I told her what time it was. She got a bit flustered and said, DON'T TELL YOUR SISTER. My sister lived nearby her.

I begged her to go back to bed and she agreed. I lived an hour away and I felt so helpless.

I hope it's just something minor with your Mom. Would assisted living be an option for her?

I remember when my Dad started getting lost when he was driving. It was a great struggle to get him to give it up.

I'll be thinking about you and your Mom, try not to worry too much!

My mom is at my sisters. The doctor believes she had a seizure as I suspected. They sent her home with dilantin and orders to see the neuro surgeon and neurologist. She was told she could go back to work but she cannot drive. She is going to stay out of work today. She is angry at us for all that has happened to her.

We (the siblings) know at this point it will be a miracle if she can return to work and function at her job. She had confusion issues before the seizures so it's quite possible this will be the last job she will hold. We have all discussed what we are going to do and it looks like assisted living is the only option we will have at this point. My sister will also be talking to the neurologist on Monday about getting her on disability and about a possible Alzheimers dx along with the seizures.

Please keep praying, she's only 63. We all thought she would someday live with one of us. We never dreamed she would become so angry and dismissive. With that being said, I do think she will be happier living on her own regardless of where, so this is the route we will take. At least at an assisted living facility she will have nurses or somebody available if needed. Hopefully we can find a place close to my sister.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. Thank you Becky for updating for me. Please pray not only for my mother to bounce back but please pray that this bitterness and anger subsides, if only a small amount. She was screaming at my sister last night so bad and I wasn't there to do anything about it. She is convinced we are all trying to kill her. She is threatening to get her car and drive and we have been forced to tell her we will call the authorities if she does that.

Oh Sandy, what an ordeal! My heart goes out to you and your entire family. I hope you can get things sorted out and find a solution that your Mom will be happy with.

My Mom had Alzheimer's and it was so frightening when she would become angry for no reason. My Mom NEVER raised her voice and the first time I heard her use a curse word I nearly came unglued. That was just not her. So we knew something was wrong.

Maybe they can get her on Aricept - I've heard that's a good Alzheimer's drug if you can get on it early.

Ya'll are in my prayers.....here's a

Sandy,

I was getting ready to call you to see how things were going.

I am so glad your sister is getting your mother into a neuro and that she is back on the Dilatin.

I pray that your mother will cooperate and realize her children are trying to help her and not harm her.

It seems the assisted living is the best thing for her since she needs medical assistance. She also won't be living alone and that will be a huge relief for all of you.

Love you bunches my BFF/GO.
