I haven't posted here in quite some time, but am in need of some added prayers for my brother-in-law. First, he's a bad diabetic..on insulin a couple times a day plus tablets, all's ok with that, it's just playing a factor in the other things that we need to pray for......
1. He pulled his back 6 wks ago lifting a suitcase into their car while on vacation. It continued to trouble him the whole 2 wks they were gone. Visits to chiropractor once they got home continued to aggrevate the pain and cause it to increase instead of decrease. Now he's having shooting pains down his leg as well as numbness clear to his toes at times. Family dr is thinking pinched nerve or herniated disk and referred him to an ortho. today. I haven't heard the results from this appt. yet. Pray for him and the apparent surg. that lies ahead.

2. He had a one inche square of skin cancer removed from the temple area of his face 2 wks ago. When they got the pathology report back, dr. said that they didn't like the way things looked and want to do some radiation treatment on the surrounding area. He will begin this this week.

All the stress & pain is causing his blood sugar to fluctuate up & down and having difficult time getting it to remain stead right now.

I just spoke with my sister and got an update on Richard.
They took the stictches out of his temple area today, it isn't healing the way dr. would like (typical complications of his diabetes). They're going to make the radiation mask on Monday but aren't sure as of yet when the actual treatments will begin. It will be 60 consecutive treatments.

Richard is having an injection on Tuesday for his back. They have given him some stronger pain medication and he's able to at least get bits and pieces of rest. However, the pain is taking away his appetite and that's causing problems with the blood sugar.

Thanks for the prayers, my sister said "tell all your friends thanks so much". Continue to pray for healing and comfort for them both.

corky, sorry i missed this, i was indisposed a couple days and catching up slowly, I am sorry BIL is having a rough go with everything. Richard you and your sis are deep in debbies and my prayers and thoughts for him to get better and stable with his diabetes

Will add Richard, and your entire family to my prayer list. Hoping he can stabilize his diabetes, and recover uneventfully from his treatments!

Richard had the steroid injection for his back pain today and seems to be resting. He said it was a "piece of cake compared to the pain". It will take a few days to see if the pain begins to decrease. He has also been fitted for the radiation mask for his face but not sure when the actual treatments will begin.
