Shocked Prunes..but no help

Well, so far eating 4 prunes with breakfast and no movement yet. How many do I need to eat?

As far as getting the lumbar and cervical SCS, I have to get both implanted at same time as I have a genetic problem with my immune system (can't fight off staph, strep, pneumonia etc.), so my immunologist is insisting it be done in one surgery to limit risk of infection. Are you serious about having to lay on your back for 2 weeks??? They told me I'd go in for my first follow-up visit about 11 days after surgery. Can't imagine being stuck in bed for 2 weeks...can you at least get up when the prunes are doing their magic?

Funny story, Rae. One time, many years ago, I sent my poor husband out to just pick up some tampons. He called me from the store, as he stood there looking at rows and rows of different varieties. He couldn't believe there were so many choices I think he also bought some other groceries to hide them amongst. Now he'd not think twice about just taking a box of them to the check out.

Boy, I sure am experiencing a drastic increase in pain. Feels worse than after the lumbar trial. Probably feeling some of the pain that's associated with falling through the deck steps. Counting the days

Yep, I have been there done that for my wife. So funny, because that is EXACTLY what I did, buying extra groceries to camouflage the feminine items I was getting for her. One of those things you will just do for the one you love, huh? She is a blessing.

I have had a particular problem the last couple of days, the prunes haven't given me the relief to which I am accustomed. I usually get what I need after about six..... so, just trying to do the same. Uncomfortable.

Praying for a release of your pain Fiona , well, and that other thing,
Mark56

Default the prune count is 4

Have determined that 4 prunes at breakfast is the magical number Hopefully this will work for the next 6-8 wks. that I have to wait for the permanent implants. Will have to buy a lot of groceries to hide them over the next several weeks

Only 10 more days, Mark!!

Heck, why not totally entertain the grocery clerk
buy the prunes, get some frozen strawberries, whip cream, a douche, a flea collar (?), a fashion magazine AND a big bag of ice.....
...make sure there are at least 12 people in line behind you and then ask him/her to page over the loudspeaker that there is a 'clean up' needed in isle 5.

Then, go home and enjoy your much deserved quiet evening

....ok, i have to admit, this post (and the visual i created within) had me laughing so hard, my SCS surged and my laptop fell off the chair !!

After reading this post, it's official to me that you are the FUNNIEST person I've ever met -- metaphorically speaking, of course. For over 30 years, I considered my cousin Yolanda the funniest creature on Earth but she's dropped down to number 2 on my list. I can only imagine what other things you might post had there no moderators on board. If I lived closer to you, I'D BECOME YOUR PEST and be knocking on your door to hang out every day

Lightbulb Hmmmmm

WELL, I reckon that list of groceries would not really do the gig for me.... , although having had a variety of items to pick up for my wife over the last 37 years has been interesting at times at the checkout counter Oh well, I love her from my inmost being, and would do anything for her. THAT is just what I was telling our daughter at a father-daughter private lunce where she was asking me to chime in on some of those "what if you get serious about someone" type things. I felt BLESSED and honored to have her share openly with me as she now prepares to go off to college.

Back to the grocery list, can't we throw in some milk and double stuffed oreos? That other thing you mentioned would not do much for me.....

Rae, I have got to agree with Vanna. You ARE a riot of cheer and laughter!!!! If we EVER have aconvention of NT SCS/PainPump folks, you MUST MC the event. You would keep us in stitches, or burst those which had recently been tied off [I am sure Pooh would have something to say about that],

Anyway, back to Fiona- may YOU feel a blessing of peace and some relief from pain NOW and as you await your permanent install!!

Praying
Here for you,
Mark56
