Charles!
That is a discussion you should take up with your doc at your 6 week post op appointment. Mine wanted me to avoid equipment until they felt comfortable I had scarred in enough to avoid hurting things. During the 6 week appt, they wrote a scrip for physical therapy, and I have been doing that to rebuild strength. It is amazing how much strength is taken away from you by the fact of surgery and it returns slowly over time.
I was told until they got me into PT, the only thing I could do was walk on the good old solid earth. That was the deal. Fear of slipping on my treadmill, overdoing, etc were the things. I, too, have a full set of gym equip in the basement, and it has gathered dust as I heal. My surgeon let me know it is unusual for the stim to fully control pain, and most of his patients remain on some pain med post surgery. I worked out a schedule of withdrawal from pain meds with my pain doc. Now I am fully withdrawn and the stim is handling it all. This does not by any means translate into a superman syndrome for me, it is just the way things have worked out in my instance. Gotta take small steps before you can run in this post surgical world and with the guidance of your docs. Best advice I can give you. Glad you could go to the game, and, yes, I do know it takes a good something to be able to have the stamina for that. Bet you were tired after! That is the report from Colorado! Good Healing!
