Wink Today is my last appointment with my old stim doctor!

Today is my last and final appointment with my stim doctor! I was going to cancel because I found the new doctor but my stim rep is coming today too. I am so glad to be leaving her office because besides her care of me there is a lot of problems with getting your records and also about certain nurses talking about other patients in front of you and to you! I hope it is not too awkward today but I am just going to be firm and tell her that I have to have these procedures done and am going to this new doctor from now on. I have to also talk to my stim rep about the surgery that will happen (hopefully soon)! I finally got my stim charged after laying there for 4 hours which was not fun but I am thankful it is kinda working again as I said before it helps with other problems in my body (especially my IC) besides with pain and movement. It was a total nightmare not having any stimulation at all though! I also had therapy yesterday and she helped me deal with the other issues that are going on in my life and was proud of me for getting that new pain doctor I am so optimistic about this new doctor and the surgery that I have started making a list of things I want to do and am going to do once I am all fixed again I also now have all my professors working with me and they have been very nice when I explained what was going on. Usually I get professors that want me to drop or give me a hard time. I had to actually write a paper and turn it in during my last stim revision surgery I literally did homework as soon as I was home from the hospital! It was very hard but school is so important to me and I am determined to get that diploma in May so that I can continue on to the teaching program Thanks again for all of the support and encouragement I really feel that if I never would have come here to NT and met all of you I would still be suffering with no hope and no options I appreciate all of the advice and everyone sharing their experiences and histories and I know that can be really hard and painful so thank you! I know that these two weeks are going to go by and I am getting closer to the light at the end of this very dark tunnel Thanks for all the , , and encouragement as well as all the fun smilies and silliness it was all very appreciated You are all so amazing and I am thankful to have connected to each one of you! Take care 'sTara

p.s. I also just created a posting (note) about my experience with my stim and put it on my facebook! This is a big deal for me because only a few friends knew about what I had been through regarding the stim and my accident! I figured it was time to let people know my story too and was inspired by everyone on here sharing their experiences to me

Heart Very Touching Tara

How wonderful!
We will have to have a cyber-celebration in May!!

YOU may not realize this, my dear friend, but what you've brought here - has been a great inspiration to many! This little forum would not be what it is without YOU!
Your story needs to be heard!

And ooooooooo........ by gollybejeeze......... if I were there with you at this appt, I'm certain I'd wear a special pair of BOOTS just so I could say my piece to this goodfornot Dr who has caused you such grief......and from the sounds of it, she and her staff are riding the fence and dancing a bit dangerously close to breaking some of those HIPPA regulations!

SOOO glad you are moving on and getting this fresh start!
It's been a LONG time coming!

Thank you for your determination, drive, and all-around WONDERful character that you've brought here and shared and become a part of.....

Rae

Just want to wish you good luck with your appointment. Not sure if you are back yet, but I do hope it all goes well. I have to say that you have been treated appallingly. Its unbelieveable that in the 21st century that Dr's and their staff can treat their patients like they have treated you, its just disgraceful. Im delighted to hear that you are going to a new doctor and rightly so and you deserve to be looked after properly. Imagine all the money these doctors make and then they have the gall to turn around and treat you this way. IT HAS TO STOP NOW!!!

BTW I will be behind Rae with my BOOTS too just for good measure

Take care
